The Duquesne Incline Pittsburgh, PA 15211

"I didn't enjoy my visit for several reasons: 1. You have to pay for parking, which costs $5 for 2 hours. 2. I came with my wife and kids (13, 10, and a baby in a stroller). It was very hot, and we all felt tired. We had to wait in a long line to buy tickets, and they only accept exact cash. 3. The staff were rude and unhelpful, with one lady shouting instructions through a microphone. 4. The gift shop at the top was small and sold trivial items. This place needs updating. They should accept credit card payments, have a website for advance ticket purchases, and add air conditioning—it was unbearably hot."

"Great spot to visit in Pittsburgh if you want that panoramic view of the city. Indeed breathtaking! Parking is provided and within good walking distance. Just didn't like the fact that you had to have the exact cash to provide, although there was a coin machine to swap out your bills just in case. Overall good experience"

"Ride the cable car At Duquesne Incline and see the best views of downtown Pittsburgh So whenever you see pictures of Pittsburgh, I am sure you are looking it downtown with and cable car in the foreground. it is easily one of the best things to do in Pittsburgh. From the cars, there are great views out over the city. Once used to transport workers all the way back since the 1800s. they are still using two original 1877 cable cars, the Duquesne Incline is a working museum, with the upper station providing photos and displays on the history of the incline. at the top, you can also see the working mechanism, wheel, and all. I don't know if it is the norm, but there was a guide in our cabin and he gave a brief idea about incline history, and how it come into the picture. Duquesne Incline was rescued and restored by a group of local residents in 1963 and still delights residents and visitors with its original, elegant, wooden cable cars Parking: $10 and that's valid for 24 hours. Parking is more expensive than tickets which are just $5. You don't pay at the counter, you put the exact amount in a cylindrical box (nobody checks what you are putting in the container). a counter lady comes in a while and shoves it with a stick. i have never seen a system like this. if you want to experience a slice of the city’s long history, go for it."

"Very beautiful and historic place. The incline has been running since the 1800's. Its been a must see location in Pittsburgh for many years. My son and I went for our 1st but not last visit. The views of the city are spectacular. Many different ways to get great photos. On the cable car and at the top on the observation deck. At the top there are lots of exhibits that outline some of the history of the incline and cars. It also depicts interesting history of Pittsburgh. It is so cheap that a family could afford this fun and educational excursion. Ill definately be back with more of my family. Take cash and exact change. A round trip for 2 adults is $10. They are friendly and nice enough to let you go ahead and ride. You can get change at the top. Either from the gift shop or an ATM."
