About the Business
Carnegie Retirement Residence, nestled in the heart of Carnegie, PA, offers an exceptional independent living option for seniors aged 62 and older. This unique facility, located at 200 Railroad Ave, stands as a testament to innovative redevelopment and community revitalization.
In 1995, a.m. RODRIGUEZ ASSOCIATES inc. undertook the ambitious project of transforming the long-abandoned Harding Court Junior High School, originally built in 1926, into a vibrant, affordable housing community. After standing vacant for two decades, this historic building was reborn, now housing 59 affordable units designed to provide high-quality, well-managed living spaces for seniors in Allegheny County.
The transformation includes thoughtful historic retrofits, such as converting the original light wells into an inviting open-air courtyard and repurposing the old gymnasium into a versatile multipurpose community room. These enhancements not only preserve the building's historic charm but also provide residents with modern amenities and communal spaces to enjoy.
Managed by Congregate Management Services, Inc. (CMS) and supported by partners like the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) and Allegheny County Economic Development, Carnegie Retirement Residence has had a profoundly positive impact on the Borough of Carnegie and its surrounding communities. The once-decaying structure is now an attractive community asset, contributing to the area's vitality and offering a dignified living environment for its senior residents.
For more information, you can visit their management office at 100 West Station Square Drive, Suite 350, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

Reviews
"I was never told, when I signed the lease, that the residents can smoke in the apartment, even though there is a no smoking sign on the managers door and outside entrance, very misleading. The manager is very unprofessional and rude. I would never recommend moving in the Carnegie Retirement Residence."
"My mother lived here until June of this year when she passed away. The manager is rude! The maintenance man is a joke! I had many run in's with them while my mother was living there. Now I am I am trying to get back the deposit...they said I took the mini blinds! They were there when I left the keys with the manager!! And charged us $135 to clean carpets and $175 for labor (had I known I had to scrub the rugs I would have taken my own machine down) and $222 for new blinds??? I got a wopping $92 out of $585 deposit!! What a ripoff this place is!! I was going to have my dad apply to live there but NO WAY NOW!!!"
