"Came for a tour and there was no staff in the lobby with a sign saying they'd be back in 45 minutes. The front door is wide open and other residents told me it's been broken for weeks. The lobby ceiling is dripping with mold and a sewer smell. Can't imagine living someplace with this level of security and cleanliness."
"The Grand is a nice apartment complex! We scheduled a tour of some of their apartments and Shay was such a great help with answering our questions and guiding us through their facilities!"
"Since moving into the Grand seven months ago, I have faced multiple issues. These included a mouse infestation in my unit, which took nearly three months to resolve and noise disturbances from upstairs due to thin flooring, and now a lost package that was delivered on January 2nd. The tracking information indicates that the package was delivered in or at the mailbox area, but it should have been delivered to the front office, where there is a secure room for packages behind the desk. If the package was left in the unmonitored mailbox area and subsequently taken, this is not the fault of the postal worker—I have witnessed at least once before that a package was left in the mailbox area. In the letter provided by The Grand's management, they mentioned that it is not their protocol to leave packages in the mailbox area. This is The Grand’s protocol, not the post office's. Therefore, once the postal worker arrives at The Grand building, it is The Grand's responsibility to enforce their protocol and ensure the postal worker follows it, either in person or via a security camera. Due to mismanagement, The Grand has failed to uphold this responsibility. As a result, I have lost $383 and an item I never received, and The Grand is attempting to evade responsibility. I regret not paying attention to the negative reviews about The Grand before moving in. The front office and management have been irresponsible in handling this matter. Both the post office and my bank have confirmed delivery to The Grand. The only party denying delivery is The Grand’s office staff, who are avoiding any accountability. It is unacceptable for a residence that markets itself as a luxury apartment with premium services to fall short of these promises in reality. I no longer trust these individuals and their system, so I have started having all my packages delivered to a different address. My experience living at The Grand has been dissatisfying thus far."
"After living here for nearly a year, I’d like to share some updated pros and cons of residing at The Grand, though my initial review still holds true—you can refer to that in the latter part of this text. Pros: The location is convient. It's probably the closest apartment you can find to the metro station, and Whole Foods is just a short walk away. Unlike most of the newer apartments nearby that are situated right next to the street, The Grand is nestled within its own secluded community. This setup makes it feel safer and quieter—the only advantage that might justify the price. Cons: The building is over 20 years old and suffers from typical aging infrastructure issues: leaky pipes, ineffective heating and cooling systems, frequently broken gates, and a lackluster maintenance team. The package receiving system is also inefficient. In my opinion, the building is not maintained with the care it requires. If you must live here due to location or other reasons, I advise not to trust the leasing agent blindly. Opt for the most recently renovated units and ensure everything, especially the hot water and windows, is fully functional before signing the lease. Repairs can take forever to complete. My experience at the Grand Building has been pretty lousy, to be honest. The maintenance here is just terrible. When I moved into my place, there were no blinds or screen windows. The person who showed us the apartment, Shaquala, promised they'd fix it in a few days. Well, guess what? It's been three months and nothing's been done. We complained to the manager team a month ago, and they said they'd order replacements. Now, another month has gone by, and they didn't even bother placing the order like they said they would. Garnell has been far from helpful, despite his politeness. He provides various excuses for not addressing the issue. Whether it's his break time or technical difficulties, like a malfunctioning phone, he seems to have a ready excuse. The assistance is practically non-existent. And don't get me started on package delivery. The front desk takes packages, but whether you get it on time or not depends on who's working that day. Some are cool, but others are a pain. You can forget about getting your package on the day it's delivered. You'll end up waiting a day or two, or you'll have to argue with the front desk to get them to actually do their job. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The maintenance is a joke, and even simple things like getting your packages are a hassle. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live ."
"I was told this was a pet friendly apartment but it is only for cats. That is fine, however a rep called me and when I called back I was hung up on when I mentioned that I have two dogs. Will not be leasing here because of my dogs but did not appreciate being hung up on."
