"In feb 2019 we came here to get my daughter her 1st pair of eye glasses. That was a whole ordeal . Horrible customer service. My husband has already left a review for that one.. on that visit after we left we had gone elsewhere to get glasses. We had come to find out they already charged our insurance for glasses we never got. Fast-forward today, my daughter went to eyeglass world which is amazing. They told us that family eye care gave my daughter the complete wrong prescription. So my child has suffered for a little over a year with a incorrect prescription thanks for a poorly run company. Do not go here! Do not waste your time . If you want quality care go to Eyeglass world.. Hell go anywhere but here. Today my child is coming home with the correct prescription and pleasant experience."
"TLDR: This may be a good practice for very basic vision care but do not expect consistent doctors or leave them with the only copy of your vision history as they will not keep it if the information is over 10 years old. I would not recommend them to anyone who needs specialized vision care. I was at this practice for 5 years and saw 4 different doctors. On my last visit my eye glasses prescription was written backwards and I did not find out until my glasses were already made. After this potentially costly mistake on their part (due to the constant changing optometrist staff) I decided to switch practices. Upon arriving to pick up my vision file I only received information for visits I had at their practice in the last 5 years. I have over 25 years of vision history including 3 surgeries, a rare contact/glasses prescription combination, and 19 years of vision history with a pediatric specialist. When I asked for my pediatric file (which I brought to them as a hard copy for my first appointment with the practice) I was informed that it was no longer in their possession since the information was over 10 years old. While this may be a common practice followed by doctor's offices in the digital age, I did not appreciate that I was never given the option to obtain the original file or a copy of it since it contained my entire vision history. I was also given conflicting information from three different receptionists. As someone who has a complex vision history I cannot recommend this practice. It might be worth a visit if you only have very basic vision needs. I suggest that someone looking for care pertaining to any specialized or complex vision issues look elsewhere."
"Took my 7 year old for her first eye check...took 2 and a half hours. They put drops in her eyes to dilate her pupils and never gave her the disposable sunglasses until she was literally in tears because she said her eyes hurt. We were so frustrated that we decided to buy our frames and lenses somewhere else (they were crazy expensive there, $200+ for kids frames) only to find out that they tried to charge our insurance for it already when we picked out frames and another store (eyeglass world). Thankfully, the manager at eyeglass world handled it, called family eye care to have them remove the charge, they said they did, my insurance said they did not. Finally, after about 45 minutes of the manager working it out with our insurance, the charge was reversed and my daughter got her first pair of glasses. They're unprofessional and wasted a good amount of my time. Stay away."
"Although the first woman whom I’d booked the appointment with was very very friendly and welcoming, the second woman who dealt with the insurance information was quite the opposite. Not only did she keep interrupting me but she ended up hanging up on me. When parents are putting their child’s care in your hands, you should really try to be nice to the parents. Regardless if you were frustrated with the insurance company or not. It takes two seconds to be nice, just two. Maybe some of the staff can benefit from some customer service classes. Very disappointed."
"I have visited Family Eye Care three times over the last two years for eye exams, new glasses and emergency eye care. All the staff are very professional and helpful and make me feel welcome and valued. Several times they have gone above and beyond to help me out. This is the best optometrist that I have found and I always look forward to visiting."
