Connecting the Community:
The Office of Food Justice plays a vital role in making our farmers markets accessible to all Boston residents. By distributing coupon booklets and providing information on farmers markets and seasonal food distribution programs, we ensure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy fresh, nutritious food. Our efforts are bolstered by Federal and Statewide food security programs.
Farmers Market Coupon Program:
Running from July to October, the Farmers Market Coupon Program is designed to make fresh food accessible to households experiencing food insecurity, especially those who do not qualify for other food resources, such as immigrant and refugee households. Each month, community organizations and healthcare centers across Boston distribute coupon booklets worth up to $25. These coupons can be redeemed at any City of Boston farmers market (excluding the Charlesgate and SoWa markets) for a variety of fresh products.
Guidelines for Use:
- Coupons can only be used at participating markets. Check the list of markets in the "Farmers Market" section to find a location near you.
- No change is given from a coupon, and they must be used before they expire at the end of each month.
- Visit our shopper's guide for more detailed information.
Get Involved:
To pick up your coupon booklet, search for organizations near you and filter by Neighborhood to find the most convenient location.
Community Cookbook:
Make the most of your farmers market purchases by exploring recipes from the Community Cookbook. This collection features diverse recipes contributed by Boston Public Schools families, community partners, and members from across the city.
At Farmers Market, we believe in fostering a healthy, connected community by providing access to fresh, local produce. Come visit us at 40 North St and be part of a growing movement towards sustainable, community-supported food systems.

"Awesome prices"
"What a highlight with wonderful offers! I great recommendation for Friday night or Saturday morning!"
"Great place to get really cheap fruits and vegetables. Not uncommon to get things at equivalent of 80% off from the regular grocery chain store prices. The quality sometimes might reflect that as the produce is towards the end of its shelflife but still at those prices you can get a lot for your moneys worth as long as you eat it all within next few days. The vendors are obviously not all professionals so sometimes price negotiation can be ”exciting” If you can get there around 6pm on Saturday, you can get some amazing and common deals. $1 for a seedless watermelon $3 for 8 boxes of baby tomato’s $3 for 8 boxes of raspberries $3 for 2 large boxes of strawberries Great deals are with fruit that is very perishable so they need to move it quickly in bulk and the prices will reflect that. Recommend bringing a hand truck or some kind of wheels as volume adds up quickly. The parking is usually an issue as it’s on Friday /Saturday In north end. We usually park closer to the the target on the side streets as there tend to be more options. It’s a great place to go to get more healthier foods in your diet for a small fraction of the price."
"Opens on every saturday. Fresh vegetables and fruits in very cheap rate. I simply love this market."
