"1 year to get an appointment. If you are that busy, go build, go hire. Someone is trying to protect their fiefdom, enjoying an absolute job security"
"My experience at Stanford Sleep Center has been a disaster. They prescribed a cpap device for my husband who suffers from Lewy Body dementia. He cannot understand how the machine works so I put it on him every night and clean it. Then the mask slips off when he opens his mouth and his lower lip pops out of the mask. It sounds like gardener is in our bedroom using a leaf blower. I get very little sleep, sleep that I need to care for him all day. When I tell the staff/Dr's about my lack of sleep they shrug like sucks to be you lady. Also their response to messages take forever, sometimes five days. The machine keeps turning off and my husband struggles to breath thru the anti-asphyxiation vents which makes me afraid to go back to sleep. I LOVE Stanford medicine. We use it for all of our medical needs. BUT Stanford Sleep medicine is the stinky armpit of the Stanford Healthcare system."
"After multiple headaches, insomnia and going through other life changes at my age, I was told I had to go through a sleep study here instead of taking home a home kit instead. Surprise! Was not looking forward to it but it was actually not bad. After seeing all the bad reviews, I must have been an exception. I saw here Doctors Amita Goyal, MD who then spoke with Anstella Robinson, MD and discussed thoroughly my diagnosis and concluded I should follow through with the clinic sleep study. I was then able to schedule it a little over a month. I could have done it sooner but it was not convenient at the time. Still. I didn’t have to wait long like others. I came to the office and was met with it seems like 5 other sleep study patients. James, the tech, took me in to my room and he was a pleasant man to work with and speak to. The room was pleasant and the room temps was good to sleep in when it’s usually cold in this office. I would recommend to bring your iPad and chargers to do something as their TV selection is terrible but then YOU are supposed to sleep. Haha I usually read on my iPad but used my hotspot on my iPad to use internet. I recommend to not wear any hair products or makeups but bring comfy clothes when you need to shower. Also, bring extra clothes in case stuff goes in your clothes. AND you will need to shower in the morning to take the paste out of your head. Bring all the things needed for your shower but they do provide shampoo, conditioner and soup, and towels. The conditioner works best first to take out the paste in your hair recommended by my morning tech, Neill. He was nice and friendly just like James. If I had to do this again, I would come back. As for the results in a month, let’s pray, it’s constructive results to help me. ;)"
"I had sleep study this clinic in May 2023. I really appreciate the help from the scheduling staff, Dr. Robinson and the technician conducted my overnight sleep study all are very respectful and professional. I remembered one week before my sleep study day, I received a letter from my insurance that they denied my upcoming sleep study unless I could submit more documents to prove the needs. I was frustrated and tried to call my insurance to clarify what I needed to submit. Surprisingly, when I called, my insurance said no need, your doctor at Stanford already submitted and you are good to go. That's one thing I appreciate Stanford that they are actively communicate with insurance company to release patient's burden to communicate with insurance themselves. I want to praise the overnight sleep study facility and the technician team. My son had his sleep study at Stanford children sleep clinic, the room was small and noise transmitted easily, he also encountered a very rude technician at first time. Redwood City Sleep clinic is spacious, every room has their own private bathroom, the technician I had was very patient, considerate and professional. I had my best sleep in the past 10 years in the Redwood City sleep clinic. Since we were paying the same amount for both sleep study, it made me feel our sleep study at Redwood City sleep clinic is much worthy. (2 star mobile hotel vs. 5 star Four season hotel. ) I hope Stanford children clinic could learn from Redwood City sleep clinic to improve their technician training and quality."
"Sleep studies has gone downhill from a few years ago when I had my first sleep study, and the results were discussed with me before I left that morning. Now, you go in for the study, someone tells you that the clinic will be in contact to schedule a follow up appointment so that they can go over your information, Where upon the clinic ghost you. I have waited about three months for someone to call me and nothing has happened. I had to call them, and even then I could not schedule an appointment to go over my follow up, but had to be told that someone would be back in contact with me. Still waiting."
