"The Channel Lighthouse signals the entrance to Presque Isle Bay. From land, it's a little harder to get to than usual as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers implements a major renovation of the North Pier including leveling and dredging and replacing a 300 foot section of timber crib. If they're still going, you can walk around the big pile of dirt and there you are. The lighthouse is still operational with a radio beacon, the original fourth-order Fresnel lens moved to the Erie Maritime Museum. The lighthouse is not open to the public but you can get around it on all sides. There is parking nearby (and a public restroom)."
"The lighthouse isn't in great condition, nor is the concrete that leads you to it, but going to see the lighthouse is worth it for the view and photo op. Watch out for tripping hazards!"
"This lighthouse is a very nice place to relax. It's at the end of the road all the beaches are on and a great spot for walking. The lighthouse is unique. It has more of a squared outer shape to it. There is a walkway to get to the lighthouse but it's not a far walk. This is a great spot for fishing but you need to have a fishing license. There are public restrooms in this area and also a ship that is across the waters. It's a grat area for photography."
"Family enjoyed walking the pier and looking for minnows off to the side. Beautiful view of the lake, but there isn't a tour or access to the lighthouse. Parking was free, took us a minute to find the lighthouse since there was a giant sand pile and trucks loading full of sand. We enjoyed our time at the Presque Isle Lighthouse more, but this was worth a quick, free stop."
"Worth the drive over to this lesser crowded side of the Isle if you want to sight see and see the inlet where boats come in and out of the harbor. This lighthouse is different than the very popular Presque Isle one in that it is made of steel, though it is definitely time for a paint job. Easy parking and restrooms right in the parking lot. Some people were fishing from the end of the walkway right at the lighthouse."
