Chairs are a fairly primitive invention that could highly improve the donor experience. Utilize them more than just for shitty donors to sit in while they wait for their wonky metrics to subside."

"I've been going to Bio Life off and on for years. The last time I went, about 6 weeks ago, approximately, there was a young, new to me person working that "poked" my arm. I told her it was uncomfortable and she backed it off a little bit. I got through two cycles and on my third my arm started to feel tight, like it was filling with air. The machine dinged, and I also said out loud 'this is uncomfortable". It still took her several minutes to come over. When she did, she asked me if it hurt, and I told her it felt tight, like it was filled with air, and pointed to the spot. She touched a completely different area and asked "does that hurt?" I again, told her no and pointed to the area. At this point she said she was going to need to get help, and a senior staff or supervisor heard her and came over. Once she stepped in the situation was handled much better. She stopped the machine, got my arm wrapped up and and ice pack. Unfortunately, she said she would have to poke my other arm for the return and this made me extremely anxious as the workers there notoriously cannot find the vein. She assured me all would be fine. Although it was uncomfortable, we completed the return and finished the visit. Within hours of my leaving, BOTH of my arms became heavily bruised and were very painful. I followed the instructions for my left arm with icing, then heat several days later. I ended up seeing my PCP because of the pain and bruising. They advised me on what to do and how to care for both of my arms. I did try calling BioLife a couple of times but my phone call was not returned. I have not been back since, my anxiety is terrible when I think about it now."
