"It took me a couple of months to gather the energy to write this review. But if it will help prevent someone from going through what I did then I feel like I must do it. I can honestly say that I have never had such an awful experience with any other medical institution in my life. I used Prevention Genetics through my provider because they were the only ones able to do a test that I needed in the US. I checked with my provider if they are in the network, I called my insurance company (BlueCross BlueShield) and checked the prevention genetics policy on their website. It never failed me before in estimating the correct potential costs. However problems started within a week of using their services while still waiting for the results. I received a bizarre call from their billing department telling me to talk to my insurance. They were refusing to bill my insurance despite what they say on their website. They were insisting that my insurance company start a claim first and my insurance company couldn’t start it without getting billed first. It put me into a limbo where I had to be a middleman and deal with multiple calls and calling attempts. Mind you I was 6 months pregnant with an already high risk pregnancy still worried and waiting for the test results. I had to literally beg them with my insurance agent in the call to simply BILL my insurance. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the lady I spoke to that day, but I will never forget how humiliated she made me feel and how rude she was. All she wanted to know was “How are you planning to pay?” in an aggressive tone. She claimed that my insurance provider is difficult to bill because they never pay in full so they simply won’t bill them. Again BCBS one of the biggest health insurance providers in the US. I was finally able to convince them to send a bill despite their attitude that it’s a waste of their time. Funny enough my insurance provider processed their claim within less than a month without ANY problems. They were the ones that took months to finally send us the complete bill! Unfortunately I was charged extra by Prevention Genetics for expedited test processing even though our provider didn’t request it simply because it wasn’t needed. But Prevention Genetics has a hidden mandatory policy of charging extra 25% for any prenatal testing. Mind me our provider deals with genetic labs all the time and she never had this issue in the past. She apologized profusely because it was the first time she sent them a patient sample and promised she won’t ever work with them again. All this stress caused me to go to preterm labor and I spent the entire month of February in the hospital. After a horrible experience dealing with them we tried to speak to a supervisor hoping that they would drop that extra charge after what they undeservingly put us through but no budge, no apology. So please if you read this and care for your sanity and finance don’t use this company. All they care about is profit, they use scam tactics and don’t respect their customers despite dealing with sensitive health matters, like prenatal screenings."

"HR lady is not a good person. Very entitled and she thinks she knows everything. I worked here for a while and I was constant struggle with the inflexibility of the schedule. They’re also underpaid too."

"SCAM ALERT: PreventionGenetics charged our credit card without authorization knowing that the claim through the insurance company was under appeal/dispute. The credit card was charged without any verbal authorization and only days after the initial claim was finalized through insurance. This is causing unnecessary financial hardship for our family, even though we are going through the proper channels of appealing the claim."
