Aurora Chocolate at Hotel Captain Cook 939 West 5th Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99501

"With street parking only and located inside of a hotel we were hesitant to go here. However the entire downstairs of the hotels kind of like a little shopping mall. They have a lot of unique and very Alaskan gifts all around. Our main purpose for going to this location was for Aurora chocolates. They do have lush and lavish chocolates available. Upon first entering it seemed like a very small place however they utilized the best of their space available. They have many options to choose from with hand decorated chocolates made locally. The service was very friendly and hospitable as well as knowledgeable. The screen behind the front counter displayed the process of making these decadent chocolates, it was very informational. I would definitely recommend coming here to anyone traveling visiting or even local like us. The chocolates have very unique flavors and are an experience on their own."

"These chocolates are so beautiful! And the shop itself is very sleek, modern, and clean. The owner is friendly and helpful. We got some of the "hand-painted" chocolates, and they were delicious. It's a very unique chocolate store. We've traveled to many countries and have never seen this kind of chocolate. Definitely recommend getting the hand painted chocolates, and maybe some other chocolates as well!"

"I want to say a big WOW to this place. It is such a beautiful chocolate gallery shop. When I see the pole light inspired chocolates, they are unbelievable artistic and beautiful. I read about this chocolate store from YouTube videos and magazines, it is ranked the best chocolate in Alaska. I totally agree with that. I have been to a lot of chocolate shops in NYC. This is definitely comparable and I think it is one of most impressive chocolates. We picked some unique flavors, such as Yuzu, mango green tea, and bourbon. They are too beautiful to take the bite. But once you put into your mouth, you are feeling fall in love."
