Coming from Seward, it’s imperative that we maximize our trips and Gary has helped us with countless orders even when the unexpected happens and we can’t offer much notice. He’s amazing! "I spent 20 minutes this afternoon at the store trying to buy 3 items. I couldn't get any help. I left in disgust. There were employees on their phones, talking to each other, stocking shelves, more employees than customers. Maybe they don't like women. Hard to say. I have shopped at SBS since 1982; this is the second bad experience that I have had this month."

"You’re better off using one of the big box stores. Purchased a fan hood from SBS. Installers determined the control board was defective. Notified the salesperson who was happy to get a warranty claim started - two months ago. After regular requests for updates, I learn that he didn’t bother to check if the claim was actually submitted. Another two weeks go by. I ask for an update to learn he’s now out of the office until mid-September. I reach out to the store manager who says he’s “making phone calls.” Another week goes by. I ask for an update. And nothing… They will gladly take your money. But good luck getting anything resembling customer service when something goes awry. I used to think highly of the company. Not anymore and am posting this as a warning to others."

"If you're building a small or massive project then you'll find all the materials at SBS. There are two locations in Anchorage; this location doesn't have the vinyl siding, so you'll need to visit the other location at 7828 Lake Otis Pkwy. This location is open on Sundays, unlike the other location. Plenty of parking at this location! Sadly this location has really tall stairs and the ramp is narrow, steep, and far away from the main entrance. If your legs are sore from a workout; if you suffer from a physical issue that requires handrails; or if you're in a wheelchair then you'll want to use the entrance near Tudor Road and not the main entrance.
