Reviews of The Juneau Raptor Center
"The Juneau Raptor Center is a great asset to Juneau and Southeast Alaska, I've had to call them in regards to an injured eagle which was successfully captured and rehabilitated and released back into the wild. They are a great educational resource by going into schools and attending different events throughout the community. Wonderful group of volunteers who love what they do."
"We were in Juneau for a long weekend from Matsu valley, Alaska over the summer last year. My husband and I really wanted to see the center. We called and were luckily able to see the facility that afternoon. The staff is on call and don’t generally man the office. The center is tidy with office and hospital area. We were fortunate to see a raven that had been rescued that weekend, and watch him gulp down some salmon. We had hoped to see an eagle, but none were in the hospital , fortunately. The manager, Kathy was very knowledgeable and we learned a few things from our visit. Thank you Juneau Raptor Center for all your hard work and caring hearts."
"The Juneau Raptor Center rescues bald and golden eagles, owls, hawks and other raptors. They have a well-trained and knowledgeable group of volunteers, and only one paid employee that I am aware of. Some of the facility issues raised in an earlier review were out of the control of JRC and should be disregarded. Additionally, Juneau Raptor Center does educational events during events like the Juneau Public Market and programs within our local schools. Southeast Alaska has more bald eagles than people, so conflicts and even natural injuries and health issues are inevitable. I've very grateful to this organization and have personally donated to their cause on multiple occasions."
"So proud of the work these folks do. They treat every case like a survivor, no matter how sick or injured. Great work, Great people!"
"This should be a no star rating, because it's closed until approval of the construction. We visited at the end of August 2019, the Raptor Center was closed. A new eagle enclosure had been built recently, and the center was waiting on aproval before they could place their eagle in the enclosure. However, Raptor Center is misleading. There is no "Center." The word Center implies there is a place to visit with educational information and a building of some sort. This is not what it is. There is only an eagle enclosure at the exit of the Tramway, nothing else, no building, people or raptors. We were very disappointed. At this time, the advertising is incorrect and no one is explaining the closure correctly or the fact that when open, it's one eagle in a large cage."
