"The location of the apartment was nice, and the neighbors were great but absolutely nothing was well maintained. I moved into a unit with holes and nails still in the walls. YEARS worth of ugly beige paint legitimately peeled off the walls. But rent was cheap and I needed a place to stay. There was free internet, and a washer and dryer advertised for the unit online. The washer and dryer broke and was never replaced. There was not free internet. There is a pipe leaking somewhere in the building, flooding one of the closets. Last I had known, they could not find the leak. The owner, Annie, is iffy when she choses to respond. I luckily didn’t have many issues in my unit that I thought were cause of concern. Though I did have a broken window when I moved in that was never fixed. I lived there for nearly 3 years. As of now, I have been gone for almost 2 months and I have yet to receive my security deposit back of $500. I have sent the landlord an email with the Tenants Notice to Provide Disposition and will be sending it again to her home via a process server later today. 03/21/2023 Attached are photos I took at move in. EDIT: half of my $500 security deposit was returned, based off the lease agreement that was only valid my first year."
"Not responsive."
"Rented a 2 bedroom unit for close to 2 years. Emailed and texted the owner 5+ times about various issues and never got a reply. At one point the stairs in the front broke apart and left a huge hole. It took more than a month to "fix" it which only included putting a piece of wood over it that itself rotted and broke apart shortly after. Surprised they didn't care more about that considering it was one mailman tripping away from a negligence lawsuit. Another time after a heavy storm, the house and yard were covered in broken tree limbs, and 4 months later when we moved out they were still in the front yard. Pipe burst in the unit above, which isn't completely unexpected, but the hole was barely patched and never painted or touched up so there was just a big plaster spot on the ceiling. Had to clean the unit upon moving in. When we mentioned this to the manager he said he would remember that and suggest to Annie, the owner, to give us the full deposit when we moved out. When that time came, I spent half a day cleaning the place and still they took $200 out of the deposit for cleaning. Texted both the owner and manager about this multiple times and never got a reply. Moral of the story. Don't rent from them if you want any issues or problems to be taken care of, or if you expect to get your whole deposit back when you leave the place in exactly the way you found it."
