"If you're homeless, this is a lateral step. Crime is rampant. I'm sure you can find 10 drug dealers in every building. Mold is everywhere.The place smells of cat piss. On an average night you hear sirens 3 times. Forget what I said about a lateral move for the homeless. Just stay on the streets. There's less crime there."
"I have lived in their South Woodlawn building for 2 years now, and I absolutely love this complex. The buildings are a little older, so there tends to be maintenance items that are needed from time to time. However, their maintenance team is great, with most issues handled within 48 hours, and emergency situations are handled immediately. Great management team and staff that works with you. The online payment option is also very useful, and doesn't charge a fee for eCheck payments. Just absolutely wonderful!!! Especially for the price!!"
"I lived in the Woodlawn Apartments for 1.5 years. I can tell you why this place is so awesome. 1) Probably the most important thing was the pantry for the kitchen was huge. There was so much space to store everything even with the kitchen space being a little cramped. It made up for itself. 2) Kurtis is the owner and is probably the best person to work with. An example is when we were renewing our contract, the front office had given us a cheaper rate than they were planning on. When we showed him the amount he said "Done" and he went with the discounted rate. (We ended up using him as our Realtor when we bought our house. He worked so hard to find us our new home and was amazing to work with). 3) The onsite manager was really easy to work with. We had noticed the circuit breaker was sizzling and let them know. That same night they were able to get people out to look at it. They determined an electrician needed to come in and were able to get them in next day. Luckily they were quick because the circuit breaker was old and could have easily started a fire. 4) Our patio looked out to the grassy area behind the complex and was a relaxing environment. 5) You are close to Rio Tinto stadium for the fun soccer matches. It is easily within walking distance. When we moved out we even received a full security deposit back. I had never had that happen before so it was pretty amazing. Kurtis has a goal to keep the rooms affordable so tenants can either save up for a house, or to get back on their feet. We have referred people to those apartments since we have left and will continue to do so."
