"Cancer can be a difficult and fearful time in a persons life. I was diagnosed with cancer and wasn't sure who to turn to. The group that Dr Clarke is a part of was recommended to me. I wasn't sure which of the doctors would be best but quickly came to realize that Dr Clarke is not only an expert in his field but is also very kind, compassionate, understanding, and extremely caring. He took whatever time I needed to understand the situation, the options, the risks and eventually helped me choose which treatment to pursue. He called me at home when he heard I was in a bit of pain and follow up with emails. I love that he has a sense of appropriate humor too as that came in handy several times. His staff is excellent, friendly and quick to respond. I usually don't give 5 out of 5 stars because I think there is always room for improvement. However, Dr Clarke and staff are top notch and get 5 stars from me."

"I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in February 2018. I immediately started doing research about treatment options. I went to three different places for consultations with Radiation Oncologists. I was very interested in Proton Beam Therapy and I went for a consultation at Loma Linda. After that, I went to Gamma West in Orem. I also went to a consultation at the American Fork Cancer Center. Ultimately, I decided to receive treatment from Dr. Clarke for several different reasons. First, Dr. Clarke was very kind and he seemed to be interested in helping us understand the available treatments. He never seemed rushed. I always felt that he had time for me and my endless questions. Second, Dr. Clarke seemed very competent and I felt that I would be in good hands with him as my Radiation Oncologist. Third, he responded to my emails within 24 hours and that was important to me because I frequently asked him to provide his insights and comments about research I had done. Even when I apologized for bothering him so much, he told me that I wasn't bothering him and that he was happy to answer my questions. Fourth, he made me feel like he actually wanted what was best for me and my family. I felt that even if I decided on a different Radiation Oncologist with a different plan, he would be supportive because he just wanted me to feel comfortable and confident with my decision. Fifth, he helped me make sense of all of my research and encouraged me to compare "apples to apples" as I made my final decision. His treatment was a combination approach (hormone therapy/external beam radiation/HDR brachytherapy) so he encouraged me to compare this combination approach to other treatment plans. I decided to be treated with this combination approach because my research showed that it had the highest success rates with the lowest complication rates. I am now 3 months out from my last treatment. Looking back at what I have been through during the past 8 months, I can honestly say that I am really glad that I made the decision to receive treatment for my prostate cancer with Dr. Clarke at Gamma West. The staff at both locations (Orem and St. Mark's) were awesome! I don't have any complaints or regrets. I consider Dr. Clarke to be an excellent and caring physician and I recommend him and Gamma West to anyone who needs cancer treatment."
