"Dr. Thorpe is a rare find and true gem of a doctor and person. After a long and awful battle with premenstrual dysphoric disorder, years of failed treatments, and monthly reoccurring thoughts of suicidal ideation I decided I wanted to have a total hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy to cure my pmdd. I was beyond desperate to have this done and initially scheduled an appointment with a different OBGYN. Never have I been treated so poorly by a doctor. I left that appointment in tears and was afraid that I would never be rid of this crippling disorder stealing my life and damaging my relationships. Fearful of the same thing happening I took my husband with me to my first appointment with Dr. Thorpe. We were ready to argue my case and desperate for help, but the experience was completely different! Right away we were welcomed by genuine compassion. Dr. Thorpe was very educated about pmdd and the negative effects it can have on a woman’s life. He didn’t question me, make me feel like things weren’t as bad as I thought, tell me I wouldn’t be happy if I didn’t have more babies, or do one thing the other doctor had. My husband and I finally felt hopeful that I would be getting a second chance at life. Unfortunately do to the unexpected outbreak of COVID19 my long awaited surgery was canceled and this was devastating. Add a global crisis on to severe pmdd and that mix isn’t safe or healthy. Dr. Thorpe was beyond patient and understanding when I would call in crying and desperately needing help. He always calmed my fears and gave me a tiny bit of hope to continue to cling to. As soon as the hospital gave the green light for surgeries again, I got the call that surgery was the following week. Days before I had text my therapist asking about where I could check in because I no longer wanted to live and emotionally couldn’t carry this weight any longer. Dr. Thorpe made me feel calm and educated every step of the way. The surgery itself went flawlessly and the recovery aside from a few minor hiccups has been much much easier than I ever expected! I’ve gained my life back and now love being a mom, wife, have dreams I want to fulfill, am motivated, and have a life again. This would not be possible if it weren’t for Dr. Thorpe. If you are needing any kind of gynecological procedure or surgery done I can not recommend Dr. Thorpe enough! He is an insanely skilled surgeon, very open minded, compassionate person, and never makes you feel rushed. By the end of working with him I genuinely felt like he had become my friend who wanted nothing but the best for me. There aren’t enough words to adequately express how wonderful he is and how grateful I will forever be for him saving my life."

You could feel his calm but focused personality walk into the room and I was instantly comforted and given the care I deserved all along.
