Motel 6 Salt Lake City, UT - Downtown

"I had a confirmed reservation and showed up at property...I arrived late at night from a flight and the clerk advised their system was down and they can't do anything. I called motel 6 reservation and they said they can see my reservation and my credit card i used to reserve but can't see the property in their system. The call center agent wasn't sure whether my credit card was going to be charged or not. The desk clerk said just look around for a other room at a different place! This is almost midnight in Feb in Utah!!! Cold and windy! The property itself is one of the worst kept motel 6 I've seen. Fenced in and looks ready for demolition."

"I am not sure of the history of this particular Motel 6 location and with its location I did expect it to be pretty run down and it was. Sadly it has not been kept up. There are no smoking signs everywhere but not enforced. We had a strong cigarette smell slam us the minute we opened the door to our room:( Room was in bad shape and seemed to not have been cleaned thoroughly and just felt dirty. The floor was not swept and spots on the floor. In the bathroom, the fan had no cover and was filthy. Drywall patches throughout room that you could tell repairs were needed. Motel is close to restaurants and Salt Lake Central Station. Staff was friendly which was nice but whole property definitely cheap and is in disrepair."

"Booked a room with a fridge and microwave and got there after 16 hours of driving. Surprise no fridge or microwave and told they’re non existent. And also a great feature? The deadbolt doesn’t even lock. After that I tried to ask when checkout was and the rude employee just walked away nodding and smiling holding a thumbs up. I’d rate 0 stars if I could. Save the money and don’t stay here, there’s a much nicer Hilton next door. I paid 130$ for this horrible room. Absolutely disgusting with burn marks and dents in the floor and more dents in the wall. The lampshade cracked and torn. Disgusting bathroom I don’t even think I should’ve stepped foot inside of without a hazmat suit. And that filthy vent barely hanging on for dear life makes me even more sure to never touch anything in a Motel 6. And look at the awful wall in the bathroom! Also I pulled the shower water controller off because it’s not fixed in with anything! Shower doesn’t even work!"

"I read a lot of reviews that the manager of this hotel was great to work with so it’s a shame they weren’t available for us to speak with us last night. We stayed 10 minutes or less. The rooms here are not as advertised on the website. The lights in the room half worked. The lamps shades were ripped apart or missing. The fixtures on the wall were hanging off. The sheets were stained and soiled. It just wasn’t sanitary or safe to stay there. I sent my husband to ask for a refund and the person at the desk said they couldn’t help us and got so frustrated he had to step away and send a different employee to finish the conversation. I know it’s a budget hotel but others we’ve stayed at in the area with the same price point were MUCH nicer. Room 282 or 283 if you’re interested in some repairs. I can’t remember specifically which because again we walked in and basically walked back out shortly after."

"Sabrina Qasim is very friendly and right on time to supply our needs. The rest of the service staff were very nice as well. It is my understanding that the Motel is under new management and I must say it is an improvement. My stay for the last 2 days was pleasant to say the least. I would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here at Motel 6 whether it be for the night or the week. The rates are comparable to other big named hotels and the staff are very pleasant to deal with."
