"I stayed here a while back but I decided I should leave a review. The rooms aren’t anything spectacular. I remember the light in the bathroom wouldn’t work when I stayed. That being said, this place saved my trip. The hotel I had originally booked claimed to have after hours check in available but when I got there nobody was there to let me check in and nobody would answer the phone either. I frantically called nearby hotels and Magnuson said they could accommodate. When I arrived at 4 am I was taken care of immediately. They were very transparent over the phone and in person about fees and prices. A great experience with them for sure. If I’m in Cedar City again I know where I’ll stay!"
"Overall, for the total cost of $56, it was decent. Fairly clean, especially the bed. Hot shower. The only complaint is the king bed was very soft and flimsy. I think it needs to be replaced at this point. We didn’t sleep much and the bed moved way too much anytime either of us got up or tossed or turned. The noises from the road didn’t bother us much with good earplugs. I would recommend if you’re someone who sleeps well with soft beds."
"BEWARE!!! -5 stars. We stayed at the Magnuson two weeks ago. They charged our card an additional $428 for two rooms over two nights. Those additional funds have not been returned. We booked and paid using Priceline. I know when I was researching places to stay I had included 2 rooms with 1 adult and 3 kids per room ages 15 to 4. When we logged in to book it may have lost the kids. I’m including that tidbit so you can check it out on the Priceline app. If you price the rooms with and then without kids the price is within $5. We also booked 2 rooms for 1 night for Thursday and Friday nights. Because we found out our kids had an extra day off of school. Anyway the night we checked in both my wife’s and my credit card were charged $200. Most hotels put a hold on the card but Magnuson charged it. This was a little worrisome so we talked to the staff in the morning. He told me it was a deposit and it would be returned to my card. I also talked to him about the Friday night stay because I didn’t want to be charged another 200. He told me we were getting the rate posted on Priceline and we would not be charged the deposit again. We were both charged $114 the next night even though we had already paid for the rooms on Priceline. We talked to the staff that morning and they said they didn’t make a charge. I have given them a couple weeks to make it right and have tried to call them. The when I say I am calling about a stay I had two weeks ago the staff says I can’t hear you you are breaking up, and then hangs up. At this point Priceline’s customer relations group is going to try to contact them. Maybe I am jumping the gun and will have to revise this review when we get our money back since I did find the bed comfortable."
"Overall, there are a couple of annoyances and I definitely wouldn’t come here expecting a honeymoon suite, but it’s pretty darn nice if you just need a clean and comfortable place to crash for the night. The outside looks old and not super promising, but inside is clean and comfortable. I was surprised there was nice tile instead of cheap linoleum. The front desk seemed really proud about our room having a rain shower (from the ceiling) but honestly we couldn’t figure out how to make it work to where there was any real water pressure. Maybe it was just us, but we think the shower head adjuster might have been broken. Bedroom had cheesy “live laugh love” decor, but the room was spacious and smelled clean, and the bed was super comfortable. We slept deeply all through the night. The walls were thin enough that we could hear other guests on the other side of the wall, but it wasn’t too much of an issue. Plenty of towels were provided, although the complimentary soaps were somewhat lacking. The main downside to the room (besides the funky shower) was the curtains—they were blackout curtains only, with no thin sheer curtains behind them—so it was all or nothing: either the room was totally dark, or the outside world could see in, there was no happy medium where you could have sunlight and still some semblance of privacy. In the morning, breakfast was provided, but it was pretty simple, just bagels and yogurt kind of stuff, nothing cooked hot and fresh. So like I said, this place is not wedding night material, but a welcome sight to a sore and tired traveler."
