"Fantastic child care! Bright, clean, organized. Well maintained. I know my baby and toddler are in good hands here."
"Our children have been enrolled in Academy for Kids for about 2 years now. Our oldest is in the older 4s class and our youngest is in the younger 4s class. For the last few months a little boy has been tormenting both of my children as well as several other classmates. It started as name calling and saying other mean things(like telling my 3 yo he was going to stab him in the heart), progressed to choking and hitting other students. My daughter befriended him and things settled down but recently it’s started escalating again. Now, none of the incidents that involved my children were ever discussed or even told to me by the staff. My kids came home and told me. The most recent incident, that led to the removal of my children, was the little boy saying he was going to bring a gun to the school and shoot my daughter and another little girl. When I went to pick her up from school her teacher told me there was an incident and the boy had been taken to the office and talked to. She wouldn’t tell me what happened but said my child probably would later. I walked right by the director and the assistant director, who talked to the little boy, and neither of them said a word. My daughter wouldn’t tell me until we were far away from the school. The next day we scheduled a meeting with the director to discuss the abusive little boy. The director launched into the defense of the boy, stating he had a hard home life. She said she “talked to the dad and the dad made the boy cry so she thinks he is taking it seriously”. She tossed out the idea of bringing a police officer to talk to the child. But that was the extent of her willingness to protect the other children in her care. She said she didn’t want to choose between my kids and him. We asked if she could do a five day suspension to show that the situation was serious. She would not consider it. Then, she decided she would tell us how “aggressive” our 3 yo boy is. Our 3 yo boy who wrestled with his friends but won’t say or do anything truly mean to anyone. Everyone of his teachers talks about how sweet and loving he is. It was at this point, when she decided to flip the conversation about a progressively violent child to our son, who had nothing to do with the point of the meeting, that we decided it was best to remove our kids from her lack of care."
"They clearly care first and foremost about the children. I know they are working to meet all my child's needs when she is with them."
"Incidents with my child were not handled in an appropriate manner. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, we were asked to leave after 5 years with them."
"We are happy with this daycare. Our 2-year old is happy to stay."
