"We hired Matt to replace an existing retaining wall and replace our deck. I am very impressed with the quality of work Matt and his crew have done. They were very professional and communicated very well during the entire process from planning, tear out, and installation. The crew worked very diligently during the extreme summer heat. We were very pleased with his suggestions about the retaining wall block and decking and how they matched the color scheme of our house. He was able to utilize most of the existing deck substructure while reinforcing it to give a firm foundation for the Trex top. Matt is very personable and was very easy and enjoyable to work with. "Update * 9-19-2020: I sent him a text Monday @1311 without a response. The job was never completed. Matt knew the stain was not what we had agreed upon, he attempted to “fix” the stain and with the sanding, pressure washing, and chemically removing most of the stain (and 1/8 in. of wood throughout). I got to a point where I was told each day the deck would be finished today, yet it wasn’t! August 2nd I asked, “is the deck is all ready to go?” His response, “It will be 100% in about 1 hour.” The pictures I posted were taken hours after his text, clearly the deck is not 100%. His claim of not being paid for his work is laughable. Matt was paid (97.5%) of the entire contract. * 9-14-2020: I’ve been called a liar by this business owner. I will post more as time permits. Matt’s recall of the events are as inaccurate as his wood cutting skills. See pictures posted, there will be more. Backyard Oasis of Edmond does not do a quality job. This was supposed to be a 3 week project according to him. It is still incomplete his work stopped on week 9. Since August 2nd he has failed to bring an invoice to me. The deck and pergola look amateur. None of the deck boards are uniform in spacing. (1/4 in - 1 1/4 in spaces) Screws poking though and visible (safety hazard) Stain applied was too dark (he agreed it appeared too dark and even stated it seemed too dark as he initially applied it). The deck is over 850 sq ft, he continued to stain the entire deck! The stain was applied so incredibly uneven (areas have running/dripping stain marks and some areas not even getting stain). He agreed the stain was unacceptable and would “fix it.” The fix was a combination of belt sanding, 3,200-4,000 psi pressure washer and paint thinner. The deck wood is now an 1/8 inch less material and severely damaged. Many boards need complete replacement. I have an estimate for the damages to be repaired and brought up to the proper codes. I’ve tried to contact Backyard Oasis of Edmond (since August 2, 2020) to bring an up to date invoice of money paid and see how he make this right."

"The Backyard Oasis of Edmond owner is avoiding any of my attempts to get a final invoice. He put stain on the entire deck even though he stated it seemed darker than what was agreed on. He took the stain off using 4,000 psi pressure washer, paint thinner and belt sander. Not completed and I’m getting estimates for repairing the damage caused. Absolutely poor quality work. Highly recommend not using Backyard Oasis of Edmond. I will continue to post pictures, they speak volumes!"
