"It started when we moved in and our apartment was filthy. Looked like a cleaning crew never came in. Our dishwasher was broken and had food left in it from the previous tenets. Our couch was scratched from the previous tenets cat. This took 3 months to be replaced after complaints from all 4 roommates. The charge you extra for everything too. Things (garage doors, doors, elevators, keys, lights, and wifi) were always broken and took weeks or even months to be fixed. We made multiple noise complaints about our neighbors to the front office and nothing was done. Also, there was a man who everyone knew had multiple police charges against him and was known for harassing students that Callaway let wander the premises and the management knew and didn’t do anything about him. He was caught multiple times in the study room and tenants complained but Callaway management brushed it off. Over winter break, after most students had left, they sent out a message to keep water running to avoid pipes freezing. A ton of sprinklers froze and burst which caused water damage to multiple apartments. They told us that they were going in to assess the damage and put fans in to dry it out, but they never did. I called multiple times to get updates and no one knew what was going on. I wasn’t given an update until 6 days later that there was water sitting in my apartment. They said again that fans would be put in and floors would have to be replaced, but nothing was done. To get any updates I had to go down over my break and talk to the manager in person. No one knew what was going on and how to handle it. I was told my apartment would be fixed before break because I had minimal damage and it was not my fault. I emailed and called multiple times before coming back from break and no one could tell me anything. The apartment next to me was fixed first even though the damage was their fault and they had way more damage than mine. Also, the fire alarms go off very frequently for no reason. One day, the alarms had gone off about four times throughout that day with no word from management. Later that day, after they had gone off multiple times, is when management posted something on their instagram story telling residents that the alarms was just a test and sorry for any inconvenience."
"I have honestly had a terrible experience living here. We have had problems for months concerning our water temperature and even went without hot water for several days as maintenance could never figure out the problem. When it was finally fixed we would only have hot water for just a few minutes. Our lights would go out but we would have no help from the staff when we would call expressing our problems. The staff here truly does not care about the residents since we're all college students which is very frustrating. This apartment complex is NOT worth the high price tag even though its close to campus. Live anywhere else. This place is a let down."
"Wish I never moved in here. The pictures online make this place look great. I even took an in-person tour and the model room looked amazing. However, on move-in day there were already way too many problems. The room had not been cleaned at all from the last residents that were here. There were moldy dishes piled high in the sink from the last people as well. We even found a dead mouse under the oven. I've also had 2 other problems with mice, once in the hallway and once in the trashroom. All in all, the location is the ONLY positive part about this place. It is really the only reason that I am willing to pay so much. Maintenance requests take forever to be met, and most of the time the trash chute is so full that you can smell the trash room all the way down the hall. If you were thinking about moving to this place, it is not worth it unless location is your only concern."
"My daughter moved to Callaway House, and we are very happy with her choice, as is she. Some of our favorites about Callaway House: 5 story covered parking garage; the Academic Success Center with personal study rooms, study pods, and an equipped conference center room; the Recreation Center with ample space for playing pool, ping pong, and basketball arcade games; the fifth floor Sky Lounge with a beautiful view of the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, plenty of room to watch OU play on the state-of-the-art television screens, foosball table, and kitchenette area; and the outdoor courtyard area with a pool, hot tub, hammocks, outdoor grills with a television screen, fire pit, and a corn hole game toss area. Beautiful, state-of-the-art amenities are dispersed throughout this property. Callaway house is conveniently just 15 steps from the magnificent OU campus. There is a lovely park across the street with a pond and ducks. There is plenty of character and charm in this area and the Callaway House Apartments fit right in."
