"Had a great moving experience with these guys, made everything so much easier. They were very helpful, fast, and polite. Would definitely recommend :)"
"I highly recommend. I had the pleasure of working with Affordable Movers twice. They were professional and careful to wrap my belongings in thick blankets plus plastic wrap. They were very efficient and friendly as well as cost effective."
"TL:DR 1. Crew showed up 1-1/2 hours late and only after I had to contact someone to find out if anyone was coming. 2. Was told on the phone that there was a 1 hour minimum, but when work was completed was told it was a 2 hour minimum. 3. Was quoted 3 men for $175 an hour on the phone, but when work was completed was told it was $265 an hour. 4. Couldn't get a hold of anybody with the company to try to figure out the confusion. 5. When I got a hold of their boss, he was too busy on the deer lease to offer any explanation or assistance, and that I didn't get that price from anyone with his company. I reached out to this company on a Monday to assist me with loading a Uhaul on Saturday morning. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone said he could definitely have a crew there Saturday morning at 8 AM. I ask for pricing and minimum hours for a crew, and he informs me that a 3 men crew was $175 an hour, and that it was a 1 hour minimum. He tells me to text over the address and he'll make sure the crew is there 8 AM Saturday. I text him the address, 3 man crew, 8AM, Saturday 11/11/24 and my name to make sure there's no confusion anywhere. Saturday morning at 8:05 AM, I call the gentleman back to check on the crews ETA and get no answer. I shoot a text asking if anyone was coming and I get a response back saying "what's your address? I'll get guys on the way". The crew shows up at 9:45 AM and did an awesome job with getting everything loaded quickly and neatly. No issues with them at all, they were great. They had everything loaded by 10:25 AM, and asked if I was sure we didn't have anything else for them to load because it's a 2 hour minimum. I tell him the gentleman I spoke with on Monday assured me it was a 1 hour minimum. He lets me know he will talk to his boss and try and figure it out. After about 20 minutes he agrees to just charge for the 1 hour. I ask for the total price, and he tells me it's $265 for the hour. I tell him I was quoted $175 an hour for 3 men on Monday. He's not sure why the gentleman I spoke to over the phone told me that price, but their 2 man crews aren't even that cheap. I spend the next 10 minutes trying to call the gentleman I spoke with on Monday and could never get an answer. I called the company phone number listed on Google multiple times with no answer. And I called the number that sent the confirmation multiple times with no answer. I shoot a text to each number saying "call me back, there's some confusion on the pricing". I finally get a text response from the guy in charge and he tells me that he's on the deer lease right now and that his guys knows the rates. I informed him of what I was quoted over the phone and his response is "$265 for 1 hour then" and "we never had that rate so you didn't get it from my company". This was the first and only company I contacted because their price was good and they could get a crew at my house at 8AM. Instead I'm charged $90 more than I was originally quoted and was delayed by 2 hours because of their terrible scheduling and communication. If time and money means anything to you, I strongly recommend you don't use this company."
"In my occupation I move a lot. I had previously used Affordable Texas Movers three times over the last four years. Each time they did what I expect a moving company to do: show up on time, be quick and careful, be polite. I am now using them for the fourth time. This time a house sale in one town is being followed by a house closing is another. In terms of timing and schedule, everything that could go wrong with both closings has gone wrong. To date I have made and rescheduled four appointments with Affordable Texas Movers. In each case I had to reschedule within days of the contracted date. Each time the owner has canceled our agreement and set me up with a new time and date with no fuss, no complaining, and no penalty. I’m sitting in a Holiday Inn Express typing this as I wait for a clear to close on the new property. This time, the fifth appointment with Affordable Texas Movers, the owner is taking it day by day with me and assuring me that he will make things happen the day I close. That’s good service."
"Do NOT use this company. These are not professional movers. The workers were nice people, but showed up 1.5 hours late with Uhaul trucks. We were told it would take 3 hours to load. It took over 5 AND we had to rent an additional Uhaul trailer with our own money. The legs on our mid century modern dresser were broken. Antique furniture was dropped, scooted, scarred. My floors are scarred. Boxes with dishes (clearly labeled fragile) were handled roughly and now are broken. We didn’t get unloaded until 1 AM. The owner does not answer his phone when you have issues. Pay a little more and get professionals."
