"Been coming here for years and have loved it. However, recently they “renovated” their dry sauna. They cut the capacity in half and took the average temp from 180 F to 130F. (as measured on my personal digital thermometer) There is now only one row of benches next to the floor. This is pretty disappointing. I hope they at least add another row of benches to bring back the capacity and the exposure to the higher levels of heat."
"I left a review before but now am updating due to some grievances I now have. PROS: - Clean weight area and floor. - Equipment isn’t out of service for very long. CONS: - Staff don’t understand customer service. When I walk in a the first thing I see is a bald man glaring at me that sets a great tone for working out. - Bathrooms/Locker Rooms are disgusting and smell awful. I will walk over to the tanning place to use their bathrooms if I have to. - RECENT updates to the sauna are absolutely less than ideal. They removed 1/2 of the seating in an already packed sauna. The sauna is a huge reason I picked VASA over Planet Fitness and am considering switching to EOS/PF because it seems VASA doesn’t care or listen to their customer base. Super disappointed about recent changes made and I know I’m not the only one. Hopefully this review doesn’t come across the wrong way but I speak for many while writing this and am trying to help this location be a better place."
"The Sandy location is updated and nice but usually always super crowded. However, not crowded enough that I couldn't find open machines every time I went. I tried to cancel my membership and it is insane how difficult they make it to talk to someone. I thought trying to cancel a gym membership being hard was a joke but it's real. You can cancel easily on the app but if you don't want to have to pay for an extra month, you need to talk to someone. I tried contacting them via phone 5 times and I tried texting them and I could not get a hold of anyone. You have to go into the actual gym if you need help but you have to go at the right time for someone to be there to help you. I am VERY annoyed at this last interaction with VASA and I won't be signing up for a membership again because of it."
"This Vasa is one of the better ones I've been to. It hosts a huge variety of training equipment and space. It honestly has something for everyone ranging from their cardio equipment, basketball court, swimming pool, massage lounge, red light therapy, variety of classes, free weights, machines and a pretty awesome squatting/deadlifting section. The space here is open. I never feel crowded or uncomfortable. Various types of bodies but I have never ran into an arrogant person. Definitely my type of people go to this gym. The 4 stars & not 5 are due to the lack of keeping garbages empty, sanitary wipes available (if they'd like me to clean the equipment I use I shouldn't have to wonder the gym for a wipe) and the staff is 50/50. Some are friendly while others are to involved with themselves to even look up and give a simple hello and welcome."
"I have been going to this location for a couple of years on and off. They have every bit of equipment I need, good hours, and I rarely need to wait for a lane to swim or a squat rack to lift when I come in during non-peak hours. For the $24 or so a month I spend (not counting the annual fee) it is worth every bit of that money. However, it is not without flaws. It is not kept clean enough, there are broken lockers that sometimes are left for months without attendance, and in general it needs to be better maintained. It also closes a bit too early on the weekends for my liking compared to similar gyms. All in all I recommend this over most gyms, but don't expect perfection."
