About the Business

Dimple Dell Recreation Center

Dimple Dell Recreation Center, located in Sandy, Utah, offers a variety of amenities and programs for individuals of all ages and fitness levels. The pool hours and options are limited, so it is recommended to check with the front desk for the most up-to-date information. Parents or guardians must be on-site to utilize the amenities, and reservations are required.

During a consultation visit, you will meet your trainer and discuss your past history and future goals. Your physical fitness will be assessed during a second visit, including body fat analysis, aerobic capacity, flexibility, and muscular endurance. One-on-one training sessions are available to help you reach your goals safely, with a structured program that includes cardiovascular exercise, weight training, stretching, and nutritional advice.

The center also offers Adult Climbing Classes and is currently hiring child care staff. Water and land aerobic classes are available, including Yoga, Spin, Step, and Jazzercise. There is a certification program for 14 & 15-year-olds, with a free class held every third Tuesday.

If you sign up for a program, please note the start date and any other information listed on your registration sheet. Children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the swimming pool, and children 3 and under must wear swim diapers and plastic swim pants, which can be purchased at the front desk for $2.00. "Went for the pool, they have the best waterslide I've seen at a rec center. They also had a rock wall and ping-pong but I didn't try those. It was $7 and for adults and $4 for youth at time of posting. Side note they had the weirdest shape lockers I've ever seen."

"They have some fun yoga classes here. I like going to the gym I like the prices and I like not being in a contract. I get a punch pass and I get to go whenever I want."

"The staff at Dimple Dell are unwilling to share. Seniors play pickleball Monday to Friday mornings at Dimple Dell and this particular staff is not qualified to manage. There are 3 courts in one gym allowing 12 people to play at a time. There are usually 12 to 16 people waiting for a court. Patrons pay to enter. The staff has set aside 2 additional gyms as space to be preserved. The staff has been unwilling to utilize the gym space to facilitate those waiting to play pickleball. I have witnessed arguments with 12 to 15 patrons pleading to use an empty gym. If this facility was private there would be an effort to maximize revenue and utilize the facility. I estimate that 20 to 30 patrons joined private pickleball facilities and left Dimple Dell. Along with 3 others, I now pay fees at Copper View which is a well-run SL County Facility. Salt Lake County should visit Dimple Dell and speak with the patrons."

"It was just okay. Saw a video online saying this is the best rec center around and I was definitely let down. They have slide you can’t take your young kids down (lifeguard says they have to be 6 to even go with a parent). No hot tub. Lazy river is very basic and short. And kids area is cute but the Nemo slide is slick and doesn’t have handle bars to hold onto. The locker rooms are very dated and gross. They also smelled super funky and didn’t have a swimsuit spinner like most other rec centers we’ve been too. We don’t live super close by so it really wasn’t worth the drive to go there. The biggest plus is that they were open New Years Day when many other were closed."

"We do a lot here. The karate, homeschool sports, cross country team and swim team are top notch. The rock wall is really fun and they have supervised climb where they will help your child. The swimming pool hours are not the best only from 5-8, but you can reserve the lap pools which works out great."
