"She was the attending doctor when my 7 month old son had to be readmitted to the hospital. The reason for admission was failure to thrive. We were the ones who checked ourselves in. When first meeting her, she tried to say that we didn't follow the discharge directions from our initial 9 day hospitalization (where we voluntarily brought our son in). She told me that the doctors had informed me from our first visit that our son more than likely had an immune disorder and that he was more than likely allergic to so many different foods. She said that the hospital put us on an elemental formula (Elecare) because of that. LIES! The hospital didn't even have Elecare. We provided our own. The doctors tried to put us on Neocate (which my son was having an adverse reaction to). They never mentioned food allergies. We have 3 other children with food allergies. We know how to care for our children. Nothing in the discharge paperwork or aftercare summary about a possible immune disorder or food allergies. The medical team had definitely discussed that among themselves, but failed to inform us. She was trying to puff smoke to avoid liability for her medical team. When I called her out on lying in front of her team, she got butt hurt and called Child Protective Services. They came within a matter of hours. The reason was because our son came back to the hospital for failure to thrive. (That's funny, because we were the ones who checked him in.) Wow! Needless to say, we fired her medical team within minutes of the case investigator coming to our room. The investigator even mentioned that all of our kids were well nourished, happy, and clean. May I add that they also go to private school. When the allergy tests came in a week later, we found out he had food allergies to rice, soy, and wheat. His disorder has delayed symptoms that are not visible. No hives, no rash, nothing to tip you off. The new attending doctor tried to cancel the CPS case, but it was too late. Once DHS starts, they don't stop. Their process requires them to finish out the investigation. Fortunately, our family survived all of the trials and sleepless nights. So thank you Dr. Karikari for making one of the most difficult times in our lives SO much worse. You are one of the reasons why there is health inequity in the world. Strip this prideful woman of her medical license! Avoid her like the plague!"
