"I am writing specifically to detail the horrendous experience I’ve had with my “patient coordinator,” Daniel. I was seen at this specialist for an urgent matter, and the doctor referred me to another speciality, again for an urgent matter. Instead of treating me with care and respect, Daniel refused to take my calls, refused to assist me with coordinating the urgent follow-up I needed, and then didn’t even call me by the right patient name when I finally did speak to him (only after calling in multiple times and refusing to hang up until he got on the phone.) What good is a “patient coordinator” if they don’t even know your name, let alone do anything to help you get care? At the Moran eye you are just a number, not a patient or a person, and they could not have made it clearer to me how little they care for their patients or patient health. Go elsewhere for your care."
"As a retired RN I was pleased with Moran until late. I developed blepharitis and purulent exudate (pus) in my eyes. The telephone folk, because of my history, insisted I did not need to see a doctor and I felt shamed and demeaned and cancelled what I was told was an unnecessary appt back in Dec. I now have pain of up to 10 and a seeming infection that won't go away. I was prescribed prednisone by an optometrist and told to come back. It is the same or worse and I was told to come back in 4 weeks. They are unable to accommodate that time. I was told I might need a corneal specialist and vision is worse in my right eye, The entire U Medical system is falling apart. I'm leaving the state as the quality of care is diminishing, if my eyes and heart will hold out as getting appointments is not easy. Docs are leaving certain states, guess which ones?"
"I dont usually leave reviews unless necessary well i find this a necessary warning to others!!! I saw Dr.Katz I was referred cause the UofU emergency room found i have IIH and am supposed to have a MRV on my brain checking for what's out of the blue so randomly causing the WORST debilitating migraines and pressure in my head and on my eyes and neck etc well first the guy that set the appointment said katz will be dilating my eyes so i specifically bought sunglasses before the appointment cause i hate glasses and that never even happened then when Katz did come in he talked to his assistant lady and my husband but it's like I wasn't there, when spinal fluid removal got brought up i almost had a stress seizure and started to panic it was obvious and was crying (from my ptsd) and said no over and over but it kept being pushed like its nothing, no bedside manner and I was nothing but nice I felt disrespected then after I SPECIFICALLY more then once say I'll make the Mrv appointment cause my husband's work schedule is hectic they went ahead made it anyway then left a voicemail if this appointment doesn't work then call the imaging place make a new one and call us to let us know the new one right away (maybe should have listened to begin with. Then yoday months later I get a text they just made an appointment at their office without my knowledge or consent I had to cancel cause I refuse to go here again. Worst experience ever. This is just summing it up but I DO NOT RECOMMENDED this office or if you have to go here I DO NOT recommend Katz at all."
"Loved the doctors, the billing dept not so much. Have given them my Insurance ID card 3 times, called 3 times but still have not billed my secondary insurance. Third time I called and spoke to customer service and asked to speak to supervisor. Said a supervisor would call in 2 business days no call"
"I am not someone who usually leaves reviews but I had such a terrible experience, I felt I needed to warn others to stay away. I would not recommend even my worst enemy to go here. Months of frustration. I would give 0 stars if I could. STAY AWAY I had a terrible experience getting my prescription with Dr. David Meyer. I got my prescription and tried to order my contacts online but ran into trouble when the base curve on my prescription was not an option to order. I called Dr. Meyers office and it took weeks/a month to actually get a hold of someone who could help me. I could only get through to people who work the phones and don't know anything about prescriptions. Once I FINALLY got in contact with the nurses in his office, they assured me that my prescription was correct. Even though I checked the prescription on the trial contacts THEY GAVE ME and the numbers did not match my prescription. I told them this but they did not listen. So I went to Costco so the optometrist there could order my contacts since the office said online was incorrect. Well the Costco optometrist confirmed that the prescription was wrong. They then tried to get in contact with Dr. Meyers office and it took weeks to get in contact with someone. Once they did, they continued to tell the Costco optometrist that the original prescription was correct but agreed to write me a new prescription with "what I wanted" anyways. They wrote me a new prescription but guess what, they messed that one up too! The base curve was finally correct but they messed up the cylinder and axis numbers on my prescription. And in the comments of the prescription they said "Patient wants base curve of a size that doesn't exist. I guess if the other office wants to order that, they can go ahead." I ended up going to a different doctor as my mental health could not handle any more of this torture. I feel very disrespected and frustrated that no one would listen to what I was saying or check the work they were doing was correct. The office was truly incompetent and it is scary that they can't write a correct prescription and notice a pretty big mistake. Now on to the problems with billing. When I arrived I checked into my appointment and gave my eye insurance information. The desk attendant told me they needed my medical insurance because they don't take eye insurance. I said are you sure because I am not covered for vision under my medical and they assured me so. Well they were wrong and nothing was covered under my medical insurance. I went through months of calling after they billed me $400 when I had vision insurance that should cover it. It is impossible to call and get through to an actual person who can help you, just automated messages. Multiple times I finally got through to a human and was told they would check on things and call be back and I never heard back from them. Then after getting in contact with my insurance to fix the issue, they reached out to the Moran eye center and informed me that the Moran eye center was blaming me for the mishap with my insurance, telling the insurance that they warned me I would be out of network but I chose to go through with the visit anyway. Which is blatantly not true, why would I choose to pay $400 out of pocket when I have insurance coverage and am broke. The desk attendant told me that they only bill medical and that I would be covered. They lied and tried to blame me for their incompetence. Please save yourself the pain, avoid Dr. David Meyer and DO NOT COME HERE."
