"I delivered my baby here, the labor and delivery team was amazing !!! The midwives and nurses there were great, shout out to Claire the nurse who was an angel, checked in on me so often helped with positioning my baby down to prep for delivery and was so kind to me and my family (we seriously cannot thank her enough ). The whole team was kind, encouraging and very friendly The post partum wing on the other hand …. Terrible Where hopes and dreams go to die. The nurses barley ever checked in or answered their call lights, took very long for simple things, I had to keep begging for them to refill the post partum supplies (such as pads and tucks ) , couldn’t bother to be friendly or accommodating (during the period of your life you are in the most pain healing you think they’d have more compassion ) Me and my husband could not wait to be discharged and for this reason alone I will never have another baby there"

"Just wanna start by saying Thank You to the girl in labor and delivery. Her name was Anna. She stayed 3 hours over her shift due to short staff and she did a wonderful job. My wife had a very rough delivery. Every doctor and nurse did such a great job at getting my baby and my wife out alive. Under the circumstances of how tough it was for our first baby to come out, they had to use some tools to get him out. And they did an outstanding job. Icn, Woman’s special care and every staff member involved. Phenomenal job. Thank you all from the bottom of mine and my wife’s heart. Fantastic experience for us."

"Honest review: this hospital is ran by students. You just need to understand that going into it. When I was in the ER there probably wasn’t a single person over the age of 30 years old there. Your care will be reflected exactly based on that. Mistakes will be made. I’m not saying the care isn’t adequate, I’m just saying that by definition of a learning institution, you are who they are practicing on. Just know that going into it. They do have some awesome LDS volunteers though :)"

"It has always been a great experience at U of U hospital. All my 3 kids were delivered here. Staff is so cooperative and caring. Very professional. They go extra mile to make you and your visitor make feel comfortable. They are surely in the top 10 best hospitals all over the Nation for a reason."

"I was flown from Montana to this hospital for an emergency surgery on my pelvis. As I arrived, there were 20 or so doctors in a room awaiting my arrival; which I was very impressed with. Within minutes they had all performed their duties and I was on my way to the surgical unit where I met a very friendly anesthesiologist, I forget his name unfortunately but he was great. I was then quickly carted into the surgical unit and was asked to breathe through a tube. Next thing I knew I was waking up from surgery in the ICU and the battle was on to get the Tracheotomy out of me, one of the worst experiences of my life (which was not the hospital's fault just part of the process). Half an hour later it was removed and I was able to breathe, talk, and calm down. I was then introduced to my nurse Phil, who instantly stepped in and started running the program. It was a fairly quick visit to the ICU, which I attest to Phil's professionalism and attention to detail. I would trust that man with my unborn baby. After leaving the ICU and moved to the regular hospital rooms, I was impressed with the functionality, cleanliness, equipment, view (I was lucky to be on the 6th floor with a view of the city/Stadium), amount of staff available, etc. Now, this is where there could've been a little more professionalism and communication between all the departments and teams because I ran into a lot of issues that could've easily been avoided if there was more communication/documentation of what was going on. This place almost felt like a sorority house with a little medical visits thrown in. Shout-out to the nurse Kylee for making my stay extremely comfortable compared to the other nurses/CNAs/doctors/transport personnel I dealt with while staying there. I wanted to give this hospital a 3.6 score for overall rating, but had to choose between 3 or 4 so the reason I went with 4 was because of Phil, Kylee, the anesthesiologist, and the surgeon who all made my stay/treatment top notch. Thank you guys so much for your services."
