"My new therapist is amazing! She listens to me! She is very easy to talk too!"
"I was miserable, depressed, and angry with life so I came to this place for some help. My counselor Nick diagnosed me with complex ptsd and for the first months we worked on EMDR therapy. Then after a few more months he seemed to get burnt out on me. Like he was tired of listening to me. The last time I saw him he literally threw his hands up and said he was in over his head and said I should go to McKay Dee Behavioral center and have a team work with me. That was pretty shattering for me. It made me feel broken and hopeless. I didn't see him after that and not one call or anything to see how I was doing or if I found someone that could "help" me. And after calling McKay Dee they told me they weren't taking new patients. So much for getting help."
"I cannot say enough wonderful things about Tree of Life. They are such an asset to our community! I am so glad for the approach my therapist is taking with me. I began therapy looking for EMDR however had a few unexpected circumstances come up and my counselor was willing to pause the current treatment and give me the emotional support I needed to get through the bumpy patch. I have not ever felt like I am just a number or a dollar sign but that there is the genuine desire to help me succeed in my life."
"The receptionist answered the phone and I introduced myself and politely explained that I have joint legal custody with my kids and that I am supposed to be involved in the decision of who my children would go to for counseling too and that my Ex and I are to agree on one together per our orders. I didn’t even know who she was taking them to until the 3rd visit. I stated that they did not have my permission at this time to continue until my ex and I could discuss our options further and agree on one. I left my phone number for Christina Franco to call me. The receptionist kindly said she’d deliver the message. I never heard back from her so I assumed they would hold off until my ex and I agreed on a counselor. The following week my kids again told me they saw the counselor. This place totally disregarded me as the father and our legal agreement we have to co-parent. I called in several times that day to the counseling business but I just got the answering machine every time. I finally left a message again to have a supervisor call me back. They never returned my call and it’s been well past the 48 hours they say it may take to get back. At this point I feel like there is a bias created with the counselor because my ex has done this before. My concern was disregarded at this business and I haven’t been contacted for over a week now after leaving a message with an actual person and also a message on the machine to have someone call me back. They are hard to reach, don’t return calls, and don’t care about legal orders of joint custody situations to co-parent in important decisions like counseling. The first two appointments my ex took them out of school as well. They don’t appear to care if a father has legal rights with his kids too as far as I can tell."
