Reviews
"Pretty disappointed. I read tons of reviews for this and other restaurants nearby… the food really did not live up to the reviews/ratings, sadly. For appetizers, we got the octopus and the lobster Mac n cheese. The octopus was drenched in a dry spice paste… the lobster Mac n cheese ($26, versus $10 for their mac n cheese sans lobster) had two pieces of lobster that we could see. One of us liked the mac, one of us didn’t. Neither was fond of the octopus. For mains, we got the scallop dish and the elk plate. Scallops - the scallop itself was quite good, but that was it. The accompanying brussel sprouts were bland and unseasoned, the sweet potato spätzle just tasted like fried bits, and the sauce tasted like they added the wine as an afterthought. Elk - tough, minimal seasoning, certainly not worth the $50+ price tag. Best part of that dish was the shred of broccolini on the bottom. The sauces were exceptionally bland. Too bad, as the plates looked so appetizing on arrival, but no flavor to back it up. We skipped dessert after too many let downs… literally ate as much of each dish as we could because of the amount of money we were spending on it. But truly just disappointed and cannot recommend."
"Visiting Park City, we could not find a parking spot on Main Street. There are so many restaurants there. Fortunately for us, we found a great place for dinner with plenty of parking. Reservations are highly recommended for Twisted Fern, which we did not have, but luck was on our side tonight. We got seated right away due to a no show. Seating may be available at the bar. The menu can change as ingredients and inspiration changes with locally sourced ingredients. We started with Brussel sprouts, which tasted much better than it looked within the rustic pan. See our pics. Easy to share. The menu has some tasty options as well are told the Spanish Octopus was very delicious. For dinner we ordered the Seared Trout and Nashville Hot Maitake Sandwich. The trout is popular and was a small festival of flavor for the taste buds. We have pics of the menu for the descriptions. This place is a gem. The mushroom sandwich was a medley of crunch and a blend of spice and flavors from the other ingredients. Combined with a spinach and cucumber salad lightly drizzled fresh dressing, made the meal. Beautifully portioned, we had room for dessert. We ended this wonderful meal with a Coconut Tapioca treat. See the pic and menu because the name does not do this justice. This was the perfect size for sharing, and this was a perfect ending to such a wonderful meal."
"This was a wonderful ending to a spontaneous Christmas Day excursion to Park City. A scrumptious meal began with an appetizer of brussel sprouts and kimchi. I followed with the trout with quinoa, roasted asparagus and a red pepper coulis. Simply wonderful flavor! My husband ordered the Nashville Hot sandwich. He loved the flavors and textures. For dessert we shared a delectable coconut tapioca pudding with chocolate granola, strawberries and banana with brûlée topping. So different and so good! Elizabeth was our waitress and provided attentive service. She mentioned the menu changes according to what the chef can get that is fresh and locally sourced."
"Twisted Fern I’m a bit behind on writing my review but I definitely didn’t want to skip over it! We went up to Park City a couple weeks ago for a quick staycation and decided on a whim to give Twisted Fern a try. I am so mad that I had never been before! Everything was spectacular. The decor is simple, but very warm and welcoming with natural elements, which is exactly what you want up in PC. We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation and assumed we would have to wait, but they were very friendly and accommodating and got us seated as quickly as they could. Service was spectacular. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Even people who weren’t waiting on us would stop and fill our waters if they noticed they were low. They were helpful with drink and menu suggestions and explained everything so well. We ordered the cheese plate, which was a bit small for the price but really was curated so well. And I could eat that jalapeño raspberry jam with a spoon! We also had the Striped Bass and the Utah Elk, both of which had us nearly licking our plates. And each of the cocktails were perfect! Definitely making this a “must” on my Park City list!"
"Five star experience all around. The food was spectacular, excellent service, and a fun buzzy atmosphere. Recommendations for food: Appetizers: Get the pork belly. I know you always should, but perhaps here especially. Outstanding flavors. Brussel Sprouts were also tasty. The stone fruit is a miss. I would not get it again nor recommend. Entrees: (in order of best to worst) 1-Scallops - maybe the best I’ve had in Utah. The corn purée with it was just perfect as was a like pork belly. Not too heavy of a dinner. 2-Striped Bass 3-Coulotte Steak 4-Trout (I expected this to be my favorite, and while it’s good, it wasn’t as good as other things listed above. 5-Malfafine (we were excited to hear they made their pasta on-site, but this was a flop. Don’t get. Desserts: 1- Pumpkin spice panna cotta 2-Brownie Sundae 3- Apple Crisp Finally, We tried the mango, raspberry, and strawberry Italian sodas. They all tasted just okay. Really great service."
