"My husband is all about magic and so I was more than thrilled when I contacted my friend Robb Weinstock for a show in Vegas only to discover that he was going to be performing at Mystique while we were vacationing in Park City! I could not believe the coinkyidink and was super excited to unveil my surprise. When we arrived at Gardner Village, it was a little creepy discovering the elves. I mean, if it was pitch black and I was running for my life, encountering these elves would make for a really scary movie. Our show was for 6:00 and right on time, the doors opened and we were seated. The room is small and intimate and due to the Christmas decorations coupled with the magic aspect of it, I was reminded of Harry Potter. There are two hostesses that take care of you throughout the evening. After showing you to your seats, they go over what to expect, the order of events and then they deliver each course. You do have to make your food selections in advance, but up until arrival, you have the option to edit online. The menu varies by the month and unfortunately, the only choices for December was prime rib, which I do not eat, a vegetarian mac and cheese and split game hen. The meal was coursed as follows: amuse bouche, bread, salad, raspberry sorbet palette cleanser, our chosen mains/sides and then vanilla bean cheesecake. I chose the hen and it was covered in a red marina like sauce that rendered it unpleasant. I was happy that I ordered a side of mac & cheese because that became my main course and it was really good. If I am being honest, I did not expect to be wowed by the food, as I know that you are mainly paying for the experience of having a world class magician up close and personal. You really can't go wrong with the seats, however, if you are able to book seats opposite the performer, I highly suggest it as it is just like at a comedy show, the people seated up front are called to participate. We had an absolute blast and Robb was fantastic! Robb was wildly entertaining and freaking hilarious! His tricks wowed everyone in the room and while my husband caught a couple of tricks, he did not figure out all of them and after our vacation, I caught him trying to recall certain acts...he still hasn't figured it out! Another tip...shoot for the early show. We started on time and we got 45 minutes of magic. I have read a few reviews of others that chose the later show and as a result, their show time was shorter."
