"I have nothing but praise for Blue Pearl and every receptionist and technician and nurse who worked with my precious Trekker. Super competent and cordial crew of professionals! Dr Walker was proactive in contacting me by phone for explanation and updates over the 4-day period. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting him on our discharge day! Thank you, Blue Pearl for a 5-star experience!!!"
"I'm very disappointed in the care my baby received from Blue Pearl. If I could leave my written review with zero stars you can bet I would. Let me start by, we had what I would consider an emergency with my 8 year old French Bulldog. This also happened to be New Years Day. So we were not able to see our normal vet, Dr. Posey @ Yukon Hills Animal Hospital. My pet and I arrived at 2pm, was checked in and promptly visited by a tech asking routine questions. We were needing to be seen for excessive thirst & bloating. The tech asked if she could take her back for labs. Of course! An hour & a half go by no one had came back with any info, nor have they brought my pup back to me. I go to the reception to ask if I could please have an update on my girl? She comes back to inform that the vet had not had a chance to see her yet. I than asked you mean to tell me she has been in a crate this whole time while I set in this room by myself waiting? Why couldn't she have just waited with me? She said well I can bring her back to you while you all wait. I said please, she's never been created before! 5 hours of sitting in a room waiting to been seen, I go back out to the receptionist and tell her hey I know y'all are busy, could you please check and see if it's going to be much longer. She comes back and said you should be next. Keep in mind the room we are in has a priority for how they see patients! Priority 1 is for dogs that are difficulty breathing, bloated, auto injury, seizures, excessive bleeding, unresponsive, not urinating, & poisoning. We should be a priority 1! A tech comes in finally and takes my pup back, 30 more minutes go by and a vet comes in and asks some questions. I tell her that she accidently had a few peanuts. I'm afraid she didn't digest them well and that might be causing the thirst & bloating. She informs me that she did an ultrasound and everything looked good, yes she's a little bloated, no blockage, everything looks to be moving in the intestines and stomach well. We could do labs, but I don't think we really need to. I think we should give her some Pepcid & Raglan and you follow up with your vet tomorrow. Sounds perfect! She apologized that we had to wait longer than anyone else! They check me out, its now 8pm and tell me they will email me her discharge papers shortly. I call to follow up because I never received the paperwork, and I knew my vet would want to know what they diagnosed, which was gastritis. By the time I got to the vet the following day at 3:30 pm, still no paperwork as of right now 48 hours later & no still paperwork. Anyway my vet called to ask for a diagnosis & results from her ultrasound, and he was told that the vet didn't have all her notes completed. And when he asked for the ultrasound report the receptionist said that they didn't do one because I was not charged, wait, what? But she also told him she couldn't be certain since she didn't have notes! Well come to find out my pup had a UTI, a really dangerous one. And my vet said if they would have done an ultrasound than they would have been able to tell that's what was wrong. Her bladder wall was thickening, and larger than normal. I'm livid about this whole situation. This is wrong, why did they need to lie. We had waited 6 hours. Someone should be reprimanded for there actions! I would not recommend anyone take there loved one to this facility!"
"Everyone at blue pearl was amazing when we went in due to an emergency with our baby disco. We saw that he was not urinating early on a Saturday morning, we got him in at the vetco on Norman. Luckily they got him in and got him in quickly for surgery to put in a catheter. After his procedure they told us to go to blue pearl to have him hospitalized and monitored. Sadly once we got there the fees were alot more than we expected but after awhile trying to work with the cost, Frankie's friends was offered. Frankies friends is apparently a charity that helps people in a finacial hardship situation for emergencies. Frankies friends covered ALOT of what the 2day hospitalization cost. My husband and I cried tears of joy knowing that our boy would be able to be monitored and have his x-ray done. We were so excited to see him the next day while he was in the ICU. Sadly they called us the next day and said that Disco was not producing urine and according to the x-ray they took he was going to need an extensive and expensive surgery. My husband took that call, he woke me up and said that we needed to go up to the hospital to say goodbye to Disco. That was truly the hardest Experience ever. Once we arrived, everyone was so kind and sincere. They took us to a private room for us to say goodbye to our boy. We had as much time as we need with Disco, we gave him so many hugs and shed so many tears. It was so hard but they let us hold him in a blanket and pet him as he made his way over the rainbow Bridge. The vet and vet techs/assistants were so calm and sincere. I truly appreciate everyone there. Those two days were the hardest we've ever experienced but everyone at blue pearl was amazing. Thank you all again for being so sincere during our difficult time. It's been a couple of weeks and I'm still crying, I miss my boy so much."
"First time our dog has ever been sick and they took good care of us. They were busy but we got a room quickly. Took about 3hr and we were headed home with meds in hand. Vets were very kind. Initial vet tech gave us option to just schedule with home vet in am and she felt she was stable but we were concerned and already there, so we stayed. I appreciate the honesty and the triage information! It was shift change and second vet went through all our questions and all the possibilities for her acute onset cough. She even went above and beyond and checked for heart worms for us. My dog is doing much better five days later after kennel cough diagnosis! It was pricey but not as bad as I anticipated. About $600 for vet consult, X-rays, ultrasound, heart worm check, meds."
"Have been to Blue Pearl many times for emergencies and surgeries. My Franklin ruptured three discs in his back and only had a 40% chance of walking. 9 years later and he is going strong. Running any time he wants. Both my sister’s and my Mom’s dogs have needed back surgeries. Ugh - dachshunds. And all did very well. I’ll include here my Franklin. My little miracle."
