"I came to learn western riding. Stacy is very friendly and has very good teaching skills, he taught me a lot. The facility is very good and the horses are wonderful. Thanks again!"
"By far the worst place ever. The owner is so aggressive with the horses and treats them bad and hits them and I’m not surprised! He has a felon for an employee who recently hit a female on his property and instead of standing up for the female he called the cops on her and kept quiet about his employees violence issues! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!"
"Lightning L Ranch is unlike any other boarding facility. The husband wife team that own the place are 110% hands on, feeding, cleaning, training and riding horses daily. I have boarded at several facilities across the country and nowhere have I seen or heard of such an owner presence. I have been boarding here since Dec 3, 2019. Yes - the place is that remarkable that I remember the date I moved in. My horse was a 15y old Welsh Pony trained as a Hunter Jumper for my daughter. He was diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease prior to arriving. The place I had been boarding him was not doing well following a strict feeding regimen. I moved him to Lightning L and he completely thrived. They had absolutely no issues meeting his strict diet and supplement routine. He did so well that he was even able to be put out to graze with other horses without any issues. Generally a horse with Cushing’s has to be kept on a dry lot with no grass. They helped keep him fit and trained him nicely for us. The horse never looked so good. In May 2020 the owners helped me find a quarter horse for myself to ride. They went above and beyond assisting me in finding my perfect horse. They found me trusted trainers who had horses to try out and showed me what to look for in a great horse by putting me in some of their own. These owners are kind, humble, knowledgeable and have outstanding horse handling skills. The facility runs like clock work. Horses are fed, turned out, brought in and fed again on a strict time schedule. Every stall is cleaned to immaculate condition EVERY DAY. The workers are all cheerful, caring and helpful as well. I love Lightning L Ranch. It is the greatest horse boarding facility around. I challenge you to find a better place. The owners live on the property and are there to assist you with an emergency at anytime. Again - I have never experienced such hands on caring ownership. Thank you Lightning L Ranch for all that you do for us and our horses."
"This particular boarding facility has been in hot water for years with the previous owner and though the new owners have certainly dressed it up, you can't put lipstick on a pig and call it done. The owner is an old-time rodeo hand and cowboy who still feels the need to relive his glory days and he doesn't miss an opportunity to let the would-be or current client know that he rules the roost and they aren't as cool as he is. That being said, I couldn't see myself boarding where the care of the animals was less than what I would provide if I had my own place. The water supply seemed insufficient, the feeding schedule was unpredictable, and stalls were not kept as well as I would have preferred. I watched a client try to use the arena but the owner was using it and told the client to come back in several hours. Now, if I'm paying board I will have full use of the indoor arena and not be put off by the owner who wants to practice his own skills. He lives there, he can do it when no one else is on the property. The arrogance of the man is unreal. It shows in the way he runs the ranch in that everything is his way or no way and anything a client suggests or considers to be best for their animal must first meet his approval. I just don't see that it would be a good fit for most people. The best I can say is that if you can play his ego-game long enough it may be worth it."
"My horses were here when the new owners took over in July - I had brought them there in April. The difference is incredible. The improvements in the physical plant are remarkable - the facility is very nice with a large indoor arena, large stalls, multiple turnouts, and outdoor arenas. The facility and stalls are immaculate! The owners are just fantastic. They are very knowledgeable and pay very close attention to the horses, and stay in close contact with me. Stacy is a great trainer as well! This is the best facility around."
