"I learned of this acupuncturist from a friend in the health care field. After a breast care diagnosis and subsequent mastectomy in Jan. of 2019, and prior to beginning adjuvant radiation, I began acupuncture therapy as a way of mitigating side effects to the radiation. In addition to causing the skin to break down, I knew that the radiation would also put me at increased risk of developing lymphedema. So I began twice weekly treatments for a total of 12 sessions over a period of 1 month. Although I have a tendency toward dry skin and am very fair complected, my skin held up very well during the 5&1/2 week, daily radiation treatments. I am happy to report that it wasn’t until the end of week 4 that I began to experience a little itchy redness on the right side of my chest where the breast cancer had been excised. After I completed radiation my skin healed very rapidly which I believe is due to the acupuncture therapy. I am also thankful to report that 4 years out I have yet to develop lymphedema.
