"my family went there for a dinner while my sister was in town, I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the service the quality of food. The atmosphere... We were greeted at the door, And Were seated very quickly.. We were greeted quickly by the server who did a marvelous job. Food came out was hot and delicious.. I am very pleased with your staff, And the manager.. That came by and checked on us to make sure everything was okay. I believe her name was April Graham.. Job well done. Ps My sister said she would love to come back every time to have dinner there.. Thank you very much. For great evening."
"Our waitress was incredible and didn't do anything to make this a bad review. She was perfect. The food and drinks were not. Both of our meals were barely touched because they just didn't have much flavor. I ordered the monterey chicken, which is always a favorite of mine at any Mexican restaurant, but this was not good. The chicken wasn't hot in the center, barely warm, and the cheese topping was just shredded cheese, nothing creamy or flavorful like I expected. The side veggies tasted like frozen carrots that were steamed and the rice and beans were bland. We were both disappointed. The sangria margarita was good but their house margarita just tasted like lime juice. Was there even tequila or anything else in it?? I used to love this restaurant but the food and drinks were a complete disappointment for our date night. Felt like we just wasted $60."
"I grew up eating at this restaurant down south. We were in Oklahoma for an event and I realized there was an El Chico close by. I am in LOVE with their relish and brought 2 quarts home. Our service was excellent and food was good. Sadly, their salsa wasn't the same. I have always compared every Mexican restaurant's salsa to El Chico and sadly it wasn't the same. It's not that it wasn't good. It was but it was thicker, spicier and lacked that vinegar flavor I'd always loved."
"This is usually my favorite Mexican restaurant. This last trip the entrees were just plain bad. I love the enchiladas here, but not this last trip. I tried something different as well. It was not good. I can overlook the tired worn interior. The smelly bathrooms and the unkept landscaping, but not the bad food. The time before this one the enchiladas were ok, but not spectacular as they have been all the times before. I hope this place is not falling off of it’s quality. I will probably give it a go one more time to see if they just had an off day, but that will be my last if it is the same. The waitress was really good though. I took these pictures in the hopes of leaving a glowing review. It pains me to write this. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6"
"Husband brought me here for my birthday dinner because he knows El Chico's is my favorite place. I love their food. I had 2 steak fajita soft tacos, rice and frijoles. Also added a cheese and onion enchilada with chili sauce. My husband had steak fajitas. Food was awesome as always. For dessert I had a brownie sundae. Brownie was ok. I've had better. Ice cream was good. My husband had sopapilas with honey. I gave 4 stars for food because the brownie was just ok. Gave 4 stars for the service because we had to remind the server my husband ordered sopapilas. He was really trying though. He was new. And for service another table who had 6 people did not get through order taken until a couple minutes before we got our food. They had arrived what seemed to be several minutes before we did. They were already seated and had their chips and salsa. All in all was still good over all and I love El Chicos. I had a long Island ice tea and my husband had Titos Lemonade. Both good drinks."
