"I’m not sure what people are expecting when they come here, but I’ve always had a great experience. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. Their prices are great too. If you want a thrift store, go to goodwill. They have some really nice clothing here and I don’t have to worry about the quality. The prices are far cheaper than retail so I always get a ton of pieces for my money. My only complaint is the fragrance that’s so strong in the store. It’s not a bad smell but as someone who’s sensitive to fragrance, it’s hard for me to be in the store for a long time."
"I was a first timer selling handbags that i no longer used. Was treated very kindly and got a great offer on my bags. Thank you"
"Loved coming here and the clothes, clean store, really great, BUT if you try on a lot of clothes they are SO rude about you putting clothes back. Makes you feel bad. It’s the job of the staff working at a clothes store, but to give you dirty looks and say oh gosh… come on. Don’t make someone feel worse than they do because the clothes didn’t fit or look good. We come here all the time and spend a lot of money. Treat everyone with compassion please."
"I recently took a lot of nice dresses and designer purses into the Clothes Mentor in Edmond. Some of the dresses still had the tags on them. There was a sign in the store that said one of the things they really needed was designer purses. I left my merchandise with the understanding that they would call me tomorrow. They sent me a text the following day saying they had inventoried my items and could I come back in which I did that afternoon. I was so surprised when they gave me back all the designer purses and a lot of the dresses. I think they took out 5 or 6 of my nice dresses and said they could offer me $30.00 for all of them. That was $5.00 a dress! I thought about it for a split second and decided I’d rather donate my nice things to the Hope Center re-sale shop than let them basically steal them from me. So I told her that’s what I was going to do. She made the comment that they would donate them for me but I didn’t think that would work. What would keep a business like them from keeping these items and re-selling them anyway?? I know this sounds harsh and I’m sorry, but I’ve been in other re-sale shops before and I thought this was a flat out insult!! So, if you’re thinking about taking really nice clothes or other items there, just be prepared to get almost nothing for them!!"
"I was told that Clothes Mentor had choice picked designer clothing at affordable prices. Instead I found mostly non designer clothing that were outdated. The shoes were abysmal, outdated and overpriced. Just very disappointed. To top it off, the petite, dark haired girl behind the counter refused to look at me when I asked her if she was able to check me out. After an uncomfortable 10 seconds she finally waived me to her empty counter. After I paid, she handed me the bag of clothes I regrettably bought and said, “Here you go.” No thank you or smile or anything. I won’t be back. I can find designer clothes at better prices and be greeted and thanked at Goodwill—seriously. Skip this overrated and unfriendly joint. (It appears I’m not alone in thinking these things. Look at scores of the reviews.)"
