"I went in for imaging today and was turned away by the technician because I didn’t have imaging records from another hospital- of a previous mammogram done two years earlier. No one at the front desk asked me to provide these no one asked me to provide these when I scheduled my appointment. No one asked me to bring these when I called back to confirm and verify my appointment. No one asked if I had them when I checked in. The woman I was talking to was attempting to diagnose or edify my need for a mammogram or ultrasound. That’s what I thought my primary care physician did. I thought my PCP was the one who would assess my situation and decide if I need an ultrasound/ mammogram. That’s why I was there. When I asked if we could do the imaging and they could compare later, when they could have access to these records, she said no. After talking to a friend, who is a physician I find out that is not the truth. At all. They didn’t need my imaging for a prior year at a different facility. I have never been treated this way at a medical facility before and I will do everything I can never to be a Hillcrest patient again. I wasted about two hours of my day today driving all the way across town sitting and waiting and then driving home after getting nothing done. It’s at the end of the year when my health insurance plan changes and I had to get a referral from my primary care physician to come to this facility so I wasted time getting my referral and going to Hillcrest. Time and money lost because the technician decided I didn’t need the imaging. Cool. I am very grateful that I have friends who are ethical medical professionals. Let this be a warning to anyone who is considering going to this place for imaging if you have an option to go somewhere else, go somewhere else."
"The front desk lady is exceptionally rude. She refused to check some insurance things when my dad called in the past. we were supposed to schedule for a preop for a surgery and she lied to my father when he called and said that there was no such arrangement. She did not start to schedule it until I called and did not deny it this time. I think she might be racist because my father has a heavy Asian accent. But even with me she had a bad attitude. This kind of behavior happened many times with the same lady in the past few months. I am not easily annoyed by rude people but I think she should be fired. Other people in this organization have been very good though. My complaint is only about the front desk lady."
"I had a diagnostic mammogram here last week. The tech told me she was imaging the Left side. I told her it was the Right. She told me to look at my record on the computer because it is on the Left. That’s when I realized she had the wrong medical record on her screen. I cannot trust this place with my health. I believe this is also a HIPPA violation since she showed me someone else’s health information."
"I went today for an ultrasound and while Cathy the lady at the front desk and the nurse were wonderful. The lady who does registration was HORRIBLE she belittled the front desk lady in front of ALL the other patients, she straight said she didn’t want to deal with registering me because I E checked in and she had other people she didn’t want to deal with it. I don’t remember her name but she was in registration and has long hair. Little does she know I do the exact same job she does at another facility and I would NEVER talk or treat co workers like that in front of patients. She needs a lesson on humility. kudos to Cathy for be calm and professional!!!"
