"I've been with crete since 2011. Crete carrier has been awesome to me, I've had 3 different medical leaves and always worked with me on leaving and returning to work, I have never had a problem with crete equipment, if their is a issue it is fixed promptly, asset managers have been excellent with me. I will not drive for any other company, I find that some drivers run into problems mainly with attitude and no patience, Being on the road is hard, alot to stay focused on now days more than ever, just try to stay focused on any time you call your company, leave the attitude out of it. Stay safe driver's."
"I haven't worked for this company. But I had a phone call with a recruiter named Camille on February 22nd at 12:30. And I could not believe the phone call. Camille was rude and confrontational. Twice. I had to de-escalate the conversation before. I finally ended it. She was very sarcastic and dismissive. All I wanted to know were the basics of the company while I was deciding where to switch careers to. I just wanted to know things like pay, benefits, availability for regional or dedicated work. She was not interested in answering any of these questions, unless I was ready to come to work today. She said she was not going to waste a half an hour of her time answering questions. I had always thought that was the point of driver recruiters, answering questions about the company to help a driver decide if the company was a good fit. And remember Camille is the public face of this company. Camille is the one that lets drivers know exactly what they will be working with when they come to work at Crete. And Camille has made it clear that you will be working for a company that sees the driver as a drain on time and resources, rather than the commodity for sale to the customer. The whole idea that if you complain you will be beaten until the complaints stop. This is what Camille is offering. I would strongly recommend any driver to pursue other opportunities rather than work for Crete. I know I won't be."
"After 4 years with Crete, I can no longer say that Crete cares about its drivers. They used to, but this last year, they have treated many drivers very poorly. Case-in-point is how they treated me this Holiday season. // Leading up to Christmas 2023, I had to get approval to be Home for Christmas. But they were VERY adamant that I be back on the road on the 28th. I was not happy about having to get "APPROVAL" to be home, less so about coming back before 01/02, as Crete NEVER has freight between Christmas and New Years. Nonetheless, they actually demanded that I come back on the truck! I did, and they put me on a 600 mile load, delivery on the 29th... and then I was forced to wait around from 12/29 to 01/02, because they had.... NO FREIGHT! (And Crete does not pay layover) // So. They drug me away from my family during the Holidays, to SIT AROUND FOR FREE!!! I am disgusted with Crete. // It's more than just this story. And don't just take my word for it, there are an increasing number of drivers here who feel the same. // Since the economy slowed in December 2022, Crete has increasingly been more and more distant with their drivers. Some staff is more cheerful than others, but you can tell that they are all being pressured to care more about the company profits and less about the drivers' happiness. Times are tough, and Crete is looking out for its bottom line. It's becoming a financial red flag, how far their new behavior has progressed. // The final food for thought, for the drivers interested in joining Crete. I have consistently driven 3200-3600 miles per week on the road, except for rare occasions. However, to achieve this, I have had to constantly micromanage everything. And I mean everything. I have to double check that I can run the preplan based on my HOS, I have to double check with the customer that the load is still valid, I have to ask for preplans. All this, Daily. It is my experience that if drivers don't do this, they can expect a 2500-2800 range. My current truck, I've had for 3 years and 1 month, I got it at 500 miles on the dash. It's now at 403,434. Crete does pay out extra stuff like Safe driving bonus, and yearly Profit Sharing. The point is, the pay is good, but like anywhere else, there's stuff to put up with."
"I have never felt more as a bother as I have at this terminal and shop. The managers are rude every single time I have to come here. The shop workers are great and polite but the people you actually have to talk to it's like you are a bother. So I have been here for 2 days waiting on my truck and I have a 5 lb dog who don't bark shed or poop anywhere they told me I had to put him out in a kennel and leave him there. We can pay 700 dollars to have it in your truck but if the truck you pay to keep it in is in the shop you have to put it out in a kennel . After the people being rude to you it's been a long day in Lincoln . Thank God for the lady in the shop store she is amazing!!!"
