"Another “try a new place” night adventure took us to Mouth of the South. The service was really good. The space is tidy and attractive. We were able to converse easily. Meals were tasty. I would go back."
"A pleasant surprise. Creative and seemingly authentic Cajun dishes. I still do not know what the boudin balls were, but they were tasty so I would order them again. The chicken fried chicken had a nice Cajun spin with some unique flavors. The chicken was pounded nicely, but not overly breaded. The place was clean and the server was polite and professional. The specialty cocktails were refreshing and well balanced. I would definitely go back."
"The food and customer service here is amazing! They are top notch. The owner is very kind and There mashed potatoes are the best in omaha. I am excited to be trying more items on there menu"
"Experienced MOTS for the first time yesterday and I already want to go back today. As someone who lived in the south it can be hard to find home cooked mouth watering food like that here in the Midwest. The atmosphere was inviting, service was exceptional and fast, and the food is to die for!! From the Boudin balls, mussels, and Tour of New Orleans to the drinks, everything was absolutely delicious. If you haven’t MOTS you should, you won’t regret it!!"
"My fiancé and I came here over the weekend. I had read about Mouth of the South in Visit Omaha. As southerners, we were excited to try "southern comfort food" here and see the take on it. While it's not what we would normally consider southern comfort food, we are quite familiar with Creole and Cajun foods. The place has a pretty cool atmosphere and feels welcoming when you come in. The hostess was not very friendly, not to say she was rude, but perhaps dry could be used. I didn't catch her name. Skylar was our waitress, and she was GREAT! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with the menu. We had the sample appetizer platter, and everything on it was really tasty. We got the wings plain and got sides of all their sauces. I was really fond of the orange habanero sauce, the way hot one just tastes like the hotter Texas Pete sauce. The entrees are where we were kind of let down. Her smokepit sandwich tasted well enough, but it had quite a lot of fat on it as cuts of meat. There was supposed to be some kind of jalapeño cornbread that wasn't there either. The fries were run of the mill, but I don't have high standards when it comes to fries. They look hand cut, and they were crispy. My blackened catfish wasn't very well seasoned as I couldn't taste any blackened seasoning, and the dirty rice tasted of straight fish. The asparagus was good and had a nice crisp crunch to it. In total, it was a good experience, but the food isn't exceptionally impressive. We would probably come back to give some other dishes a chance. It's worth the stop in, especially if you aren't used to Cajun foods."
