Reviews of Diamond Mesa
"I had high hopes for this place until I actually started living here… where do I start? Well unit prices are ridiculously high considering how unsafe the area is, how tiny the units are, how outdated appliances are, the bug problems, etc. When me and my roommate had first inquired about moving in here, Monica treated us very rudely and cackled when we told her our income and judged us. Be aware of the extra charges on top of your rent for pest control and “trash valet” that you cannot opt out of. Pest control only comes if you call them, otherwise you will still be charged. Trash valet only comes about once a week sometimes and we’ve had the people kick over our trash and leave pieces of trash thrown all over the patio for whatever reason. You will get fined for having an unclean patio because they worry the most about the image they display to those looking to move in when they should be worried about providing quality living for those who are already paying to stay here. Our trash valet trash can got stolen and yet I have to pay for another one. Gates are always broken so be extra careful with any random people walking/driving in at their leisure.I’ve had to call the cops because i have encountered several crazy people while trying to walk to my vehicle, that I also have to walk a mile to get to. Me and my roommate pay almost $1700 a month for a one bedroom just to never find any parking. You more than likely will have to park OUTSIDE of your own “gated” apartment complex and hope your vehicle is still in one piece or even there by the morning. Beware your vehicle will be towed without warning, even if it’s parked in front of your garage for 2 minutes to run inside and grab something. People who have garages only utilize them for storage and those with reserved parking spaces still use the public spaces so they can also keep their designated space while the rest of us have to fight for a spot. Our garage door was opening randomly on its own which was scary and unsafe. Nobody picks up after their pets so watch your step or you might step on poop while taking a stroll. Also bring nose plugs while you're at it because the dog park is always full of poop even though they have emailed everyone several times to clean up after their pets. Nobody does it and maintenance doesn’t bother to keep up. It smells horrific. I keep seeing reviews about tenants who are moving out not getting their deposit back. Hopefully it’s not the same case with us but I wouldn’t be surprised. Diamond Mesa is money hungry. I have been seeing a lot of tenants move out since I’ve been here. It seems like a lot of people don’t seem to stay..wonder why."
"For the cost of these units, much is left to be desired. I had several issues with maintenance and front office staff. Greystar knows how to hire the people that will defend their every dollar rather than provide housing to people with mindfulness and kindness. I had issues from the beginning where the leasing agent forced me into paying a higher rent than advertised because "I couldn't move in to the unit quickly" meanwhile the only setback for me being able to sign a lease is their process of application approval. What's the point in showing a rent you can apply for when it's not attainable in by possibility per their processing? Once we moved in, we had an issue with our garage door opening at random, whether we were home or not. This issue wasn't taken seriously for 3 different maintenance requests, and I was told by office staff they had many tenants to give their attention to. So casually dismissing any concern for my property or safety, and making us wait for nearly a month for the issue to be resolved. Pest control is a 3rd party, and from my understanding the front office checks out my set of maintenance keys to them for service. Well, pest control came by, and left the maintenance key on the door lock of my front door. I didn't find the key on my door until 3 days after the fact, increasing my deep discomfort for my safety while living here. Leasing staff never audited the logs for the missing key, never alerted us to the issue, and never investigated the issue when it was finally brought to their attention. Moving out left me wondering how people go on being as awful as they are. BEWARE you will be held responsible for ANY markings on the garage floors, despite laws that lay out damage vs. wear and tear. You are expected to leave no signs of a car having been parked in the garage. The day I turned over the keys I did a move out walk through with the assistant manager. IF YOU GO IN SEEKING AN AGREEMENT OF DAMAGES FOR MOVE OUT, BE PREPARED. I left my unit after the walkthrough to meet with the assistant manager in the office to sign papers and turn over keys, only to find she left for a family emergency. Which is all fine and great, but she was the only employee of the office authorized to deal with move out costs. I couldn't even believe I ended up bamboozled out of my only reason for even scheduling the move out walkthrough and my one means of protection for not being nickled and dimed for "damages" I wouldn't be able to argue effectively in post. Wouldn't you be surprised that what would have been nearly $150 in damages discussed during the walk-through turned into over $300 when I received the bill days later. My only option because of these scummy, greedy tactics is to seek legal action, which Greystar likely is banking on I won't pursue. Avoid ANY Greystar location, as they have no investment in providing housing other than purely financial, and hire people who's only goal is to be rude and protective of Greystar's bottom dollar. Side note: various different gates were non functioning/broken for several weeks at a time on many occasions during my lease and my gate code was typed in wrong to the system during move in and not double checked when I first went in reporting the issue. If you expect Greystar to take their responsibility for actually upkeeping their amenities seriously, you'll be hard pressed."
"I have lived on the property a long time and have seen the office staff come and go like a revolving door. Personally I have never had an issue with anyone in the office, and if I did I would take it up with the property manager or assistant manager first for resolution. The property itself was not always well maintained, and maintenance was not always the best! But, we worked it out so I never had any complaints. However, the new office staff that is now running the show are absolutely AMAZING! Smiling faces, beautiful attitudes, and the level of professionalism is so incredible! It’s so nice to be able to speak to anyone in the office and they are not only helpful but they actually want to help without an attitude or rude comment. The property is so clean and well maintained now and the maintenance staff is super quick and efficient. There is even spare visitor parking now which was non existent before! Keep up the great work!!"
"I pay 1,500 dollars a month for a mid quality apartment and I struggle every night to find parking as the garages are very small and can’t fit anything much bigger than a sedan(IF YOU HAVE THE ONE BEDROOM) can’t speak for the other units. 90 percent of the time I have to park somewhere else and take an Uber home. The leasing office workers are nice depending on the day. My only positive is that it has refrigerated air. Definitely not worth 1500 a month. If you can afford a bit higher rent look somewhere else. Overall the inside of the units are okay. Don’t expect anything really up to date or modern."
"Since the new office staff got here things have been great. We hated coming into the office with the old staff especially Monica because of how rude they were but now it’s nice seeing happy faces. I’ve worked with Alex a few times and she is great and is always very helpful whenever we stop by. We’re so please, we decided to renew for another year!"
