"I wouldn't give a one star if I had a choice. community lighthouse is a complete joke. do not waste your time bringing your child here. My son is having behavioral issues and I thought play therapy here would be good for him, they saw my son 2 times after I already proved I carried sole and legal custody of my son by showing them his birth certificate. they said that was all the info I needed to show to continue services for my son. then after seeing my son 2 different times they started to request fathers information because I guess they didn't believe I had sole and legal custody, I could have shown them the court orders but they didn't allow me to show them the court orders. they denied my son care because they couldn't simply abide by the law and when I would ask questions of concern they were rude and would hang up on me, my sons care was not in the best interest of your staff. yall need to do better for these children who are having mental health issues. there should be no excuses. I tried to reason and ask if I was able to submit court documents for additional proof and instead of being professional they denied that and said they were dropping him."
"A school counselor once told me a lot of people come here to quickly move up to a higher position in the industry, I have a huge problem with this this has caused trauma for me since I was young but I recently went into bad anxiety and etc so I needed a therapist but it was all going good and even after all the trauma I mentioned to said therapist they still went and did what I asked them not to. My insurance was cut off and I was texting and notifying them and suddenly I was sent a letter that I’m no longer going to be seen in this clinic and brought all that trauma straight back, they’re really unprofessional people they hire here they aren’t meant to deal with some of the level of trauma we have and they also don’t know how to depart properly or atleast have helped me find someone in the meantime because I don’t feel good not having a therapist but that’s been ruined by this place never will I go to another counselor. Don’t take your kid here unless you want them to start getting detachment issues like I have been"
"I was referred by my therapist to take my child here. They were having school refusal due to bullying, depression, anxiety and threats of self harm. We did the initial intake parents only and explained how a decent day went and how our worst day could be. From this we had to wait for the counselor/therapist to go over intake with their supervisors. They advised we get them evaluated at unm children's inpatient facility for "intense in patient care" or "for fear of self harm" I had them evaluated by two different places UNM and the hotline for suicide/self harm. Both determined they were a low risk for actual self harm and would benefit from out patient therapy. We told the counselor/therapist we were assigned to this and she talked to her supervisors again and got back to us a few days later to state they wouldn't be seeing my child as "we feel they need intense inpatient therapy" and "the issues they have are more than what we can comfortably help with" and again pushed for us to commit my child. Again without ever meeting them. We took them to another place Albuquerque Guidance Center and explained everything again. We were paired with a wonderful therapist who's helped our child immensely in outpatient care. They speak once a week and once a week do group boxing lessons which has helped our child with confidence and problem solving. Depression is at a minimum anxiety is low and the bullying has stopped at school as has the school refusal. We went into Community Lighthouse worried and looking for guidance and help. We got weeks of more worry panic and fear thinking we'd have to commit our nine year old. I would never ever recommend this place to any of my friends or family. In response to owners comment. The best way in my opinion to improve your evaluation process would be to speak with the child first themselves before making a judgement as serious as having them taken from their family and placed in “intense in patient program”. I understand sometimes that’s helpful but it could also be traumatic especially to a child who’s already depressed. Albuquerque Guidance Center did amazing for us not just because of “wrap around services” but because they took the time to talk to us, our child then together and worked out how best our child could be helped. They didn’t meet with the parents once and make snap decisions based off the “worst of worst days” so no thanks to your half hearted excuses."
"My child was seeing a therapist here at community Light House and was happy and making progress. The Therapist up and left with no explanation, they took weeks to get my child re-established. We had to do a whole new intake as if she was a new patient, the schedule they put her on was a time and day that we couldn’t do, they put her with a different therapist to accommodate the date. My child was uncomfortable with this person I put in a request for someone else. I was asked to fill out forms for the request, the request was denied and we were dropped. They explained we were dropped because we had two no shows. That was a lie, we had to cancel for a school event, I called to cancel on the same day, but I did call and the other missed appointment was canceled as well . I tried explaining all this to the COO but she wouldn’t budge, just chuckled and said she could give us recommendations for another place, Here my child waited for weeks because my child’s therapist left they drop my child because, my child doesn’t fit/connect with who they choose for my child, and because my child's circumstances changed and needs a different schedule that they can’t accommodate to without changing therapists. Anyway after trying to reason, they just dropped us like that. We can wait for them after dropping the ball, but they won’t work with you, they gave us no notice of intent. Wow, I can’t believe what all just happened."
"Their customer service is horrible!!! Both Brandon and Stacy were completely rude. Neither one of them could answer any of my questions and they just kept transferring me back and forth while I was halfway in asking a question. They are not willing to work with the customer so it’s so surprise to me that they don’t have a waiting list to see patients! I would rather be on a 6 month long waiting list with another more professional counseling service than to deal with these unprofessional people. If the front desk people are this bad I don’t even want to imagine the service the counselors would have provided. Save your time and look elsewhere for counseling for your kids."
