"I have a 28’ aluminum enclosed car hauler just a couple years old. Loading my Jeep the other day and heard a loud pop. Turns out I broke three welds on the ramp door. I called Travis and explained we were traveling through and needed it repaired. He was very happy to help. Came over to the campground about 1 pm and picked it up and took it back to his shop. "July 23, 2021 - During a wheel bearing repack at Camping World, we discovered that we had a broken suspension shackle on our 46 foot long, 17,500-pound Jayco Seismic fifth-wheel toy hauler. As a result, the springs were being supported by the camper frame. Camping World recommended T&T Welding and Repair in Rapid City, South Dakota, and we are so glad they did! T&T Welding is a family-owned business that treats all customers like family or friend. They have been serving ranchers and RVers in the Rapid City area for years. Todd Jones, Travis Jones, and Kolton Jones all converged on my trailer to make sure that the repair job gave us the best possible outcome: a set of shackles that would not fail again. Their key to success is their phenomenal level of experience; they have seen just about everything, and they know how to fix it. Prior to coming to T & T Welding, I had had other shackles repaired and reinforced with additional welded plates on both sides of the shackles and frame. I asked Todd and Travis to do the same with the rest of the shackles so they could handle our planned trip to Alaska next year. They assured me that they would get this done and done correctly; and they did! They welded additional 3” x 4” steel tube supports to the matching shackles on both sides of the RV thus adding additional support. See the photos. Also, over previous years, I asked mechanics to grease our 28 suspension wet-bolts when we had the wheel bearings repacked with grease. Well lubricated wet-bolts allow the leaf springs to move freely, reducing wear on the springs. As it turns out, they had never been greased. Kolton and Fred Athens made sure that all the bearings were greased properly by drilling out the plugged grease fittings and then pumping the bearings full of grease. I do not have enough superlatives for T & T Welding and the entire Jones family. They offer great service at a fair price with tons of experience and knowledge of the welding business. They have their own fabrication equipment and raw materials on site. They can make just about anything that you need. Based upon my experience, I figured that the job would take two days to complete. Since we are full-time RVers, this meant additional expense for hotel rooms and food. As is turns out, Todd assured me that they could have it done in one day. It was in at 8:00 in the morning and out at 2:00 in the afternoon. I could not have been happier. I plan to make trips through Rapid City periodically to have T & T Welding pack my wheel bearings and check out my trailer’s suspension. I have complete faith in them. Even if it is somewhat out of my way, I will drive to Rapid City to get their quality service. I would give them more stars if I could."
