"I cannot go to this hospital any longer. I hate the fact that I am redirected to this hospital from others. I hate the fact that I am treated like a problem every time I come in. Hearing the doctors complain about the amount of work they need to do, when they finally see you, tells me their only interest is getting rid of you (a problem). I still recall hearing a head nurse complain about the night crew not completing their cleaning list before the morning shift arrives. Saying he is getting angry with the staff for not cleaning. This was while I was inside getting my blood drawn for a test. Years prior, when COVID was happening, I got admitted into a room for a possible positive case for that strain of influenza. A second nurse approached the first and argued about why I was even in a room. Once again making me feel like a problem. The argument, as far as I could recall, sounded a little bit like this: "why is he in there?" "Because he is a potential carrier of COVID." "Why don't you just discharge him with some random non-threatening case and move him along?" "He's CYFD. We can't get this wrong." This right here... Preferential treatment. I'm a problem they need to solve and fast. And as soon as that interaction happened I finally got screened for COVID. That's right at this hospital, and almost like every other hospital across the globe that is getting built up, provides preferential treatment. You don't come here to get better, you are a problem they need to solve. Don't go to hospitals in New Mexico. They're all the same."
"The worst stay ever that I've been here. Got my gallbladder taken out, pain was not managed! I was in pain the entire time. Medicine specialist said they do one thing and leave no notes for nurses, bad side reports were done it felt like I was not treated all I'm still in pain."
"Horrible. Everyday for several days I would find my wife lying for hours in her feces. She has Alzheimers and would not complain. She would get it on her hands and face and mouth. Only when family members complained would she be cleaned. And they NEVER washed her hands. Only 1 staff member really cared for her. Others would sit at the nurses station, sometimes with heads down trying to get some rest. I understand they are overworked BUT you cannot IGNORE patients this way. Shame on UNM Hospital!"
"If I could give a zero I would. DO NOT GO HERE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. I was here for five hours, they got my date of birth wrong even though I told them repeatedly and gave them my ID. They took blood did an X-ray but only after I had been there for three hours. No one updated me on results even when I asked. Patients went missing. Nurses called for people they already took to the back. They gave me Tylenol with the wrong date of birth on the wrist band and I had to take my own IV out because the nurse I asked to get me an update or I was leaving left me for another twenty minutes in a super crowded waiting room and began laughing and hanging out with her buddies. Very unprofessional staff, dirty hospital, and no care actually given for super high blood pressure and dizziness persistent cough and blackouts from dizziness."
"I have no problem with the hospital or the nurses in fact everyone is great there very knowledgeable and caring. Only problem I have is with the way they take care of the actual hospital the bathrooms are disgusting they smell and it looks like they don’t Maintenance them."
