Lake Park Campground & Cottages

"It was a really nice campground, with an easy access to the lake (very dirty though). The staff is quite nice and helpful. The campground itself is only about 4 very small slots next to each other in complete view, so you're basically sharing one big spot with 3 other tents...It was just one night for us, so no problem."

"This location is great, very convenient to Rapid City and the Black Hills. The sites are long and pull-through, shaded, with picnic table. First time I’ve been in a park where you share the power/water with neighboring unit. They tried to put us in one of these, and we had to pull all the way to front of site which was still a long >20ft sewer run. Then the light pole was just outside our door which was an obstacle once the slides were out, the light shone in the bedroom windows, and the picnic table was at the very back of the RV. This narrow lot just was not comfortable for a 5 night stay. On the positive side, it only took a phone call and they changed our site. I would definitely stay here again, just not in site 40!"

"One of the best campgrounds we've ever stayed in! We are tent campers and the tent sites are level and easy to set up a tent on. Very close to bathrooms is a plus. Bathrooms/showers wonderful! No complaints whatsoever, would definitely stay here again!"

"Beautiful campground with spectacular big trees, pretty buildings with really lovely plants and decorations of wooden carved bears; really lovely. The campsites are close together which isn't great but what compounds the issue is that people are allowed to smoke here; many campgrounds smoking is prohibited. The bathrooms are nice but very cramped, the toilet stalls are not quite clean enough and very cramped, you have to straddle the toilet to open the door. The showers drain well enough but they say right where you stand and you end up standing in a puddle which is a little creepy. They are free, there is a shelf that folds down and I didn't want to touch it because it looked dirty. I understand the right space but I think updating and cleaning would go a long way. We didn't stay in a tent site, but they were really nice!"

"This was our first trip to see the sites of South Dakota, and we were definitely not disappointed. Staying here at the edge of Rapid city, was the best choice we could have made. We could travel a short distance in any direction, and take part in all kinds of fun activities, or visit amazing places. The comfort of this resort was exactly what we needed at the end of each days activities, and there were multiple options for food delivery on the days that you ran yourself ragged, and didn't want to cook. The cottage that we stayed in had everything we needed, and made for a great home away from home. Honestly on our next trip out here I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, and my family can't wait to come back."
