"My family just returned from SD and Grandma's house. The hosts were delightful and very informative about the property. We enjoyed learning the history of Grandma's house. The house itself was perfect for our needs. It was clean, roomy and was stocked with everything we needed. We mostly grilled each night and had all the necessary kitchen supplies. The property was well lit which was great when returning late in the evening. Almost every morning we saw deer grazing in the yard. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Grandma's house and the Black Hills area"

"Our family stayed at Grandma's House in the Woods from May 22 - May 30, 2020. I can't say enough good things about how comfortable and cozy it was and how much fun we had while visiting the Black Hills. David and Vicki were awesome to communicate with and we will definitely stay here again when we visit the Black Hills. There is a roomy kitchen and an extra refrigerator in the garage, how wonderful if you are cooking in while you're there. the home has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. There were also some friendly deer in the yard every morning. Don't hesitate to stay at Grandma's House in the Woods!"

"Grandma's House in the Woods is an amazing vacation rental in Custer, South Dakota. I spent almost two weeks enjoying the tranquil environment. In addition to all the comforts of home, I had the pleasure of seeing all the deer throughout the day grazing along the five wooded acres. The vacation rental was clean and everything in good condition. I was pleasantly surprised to see the kitchen full of all the things you would want to make nearly everything. Go outside onto the very large porch for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine and just enjoy the wildlife and beautiful scenery. The Custer vacation rental is about a mile from the City of Cuter City. Yeah, that's a strange name for a city, but whatever. In town, you can get all your groceries from Lynn's Dakotamart. They even have a couple of restaurants where I would consider patronizing again. If you want a vacation rental close to Mt. Rushmore, Grandma's House in the Woods should be top on your list. When you're vacationing in the Black Hills, it's nice to be close to all the attractions. Sturgis is pretty close, as well as The Badlands. Of course, Custer State Park is right around the corner. I hope to visit again and when I do, I'll stay at Grandma's House in the Woods. By the way, the Bartz's (the owners) are such a pleasure!"

"We booked this place on VRBO and didn't quite know what to expect, being that this was our first time with a vacation home finder service. We were excited to see it for the first time and our expectations were exceeded! This charming home has it all, except for a place for campfires, which was not too big of a deal. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with all you'd need for proper meals, the bathrooms were clean and the water was hot in the showers, the family areas were cozy but large enough for our 8 and a dog. Outside was more than enough room to run, play ball, explore the forest, or just sit in the shade and enjoy a cold one after a loved day of exploring the Black Hills. The location was very close to everything we wanted to do, but far enough that the noise from town or traffic wasn't an issue at all. We stayed for 9 nights and there wasn't a problem with the house or property once! We will definitely consider Grandma's House first in the future. The owners were very courteous in handling things from the first step in booking all the way throughout checkout and answered all of our questions thoroughly. I am impressed, as this service isn't the normal way people do business as we've seen in the past."
