"I cannot express how much my family and I enjoyed staying here. Crystal is amazing and beyond accommodating. We've stayed here twice and we don't plan on staying anywhere else while visiting the Black Hills. The cabin was clean and stocked with all the amenities, the outside common areas were clean (which was great because we enjoyed using the grill and fire pit). We recently stayed in a suite at a resort and appreciated the service and kindness here so much more. Check in was so easy and this is the perfect place to escape from the city. My only regret is we couldn't stay longer."

"I Found this great gem while looking for a landing spot while visiting the Black Hills and Mt Rushmore. I needed a place to host 4 adults and this turned out to be the perfect spot. We stayed in the Elk Cabin. The host, Crystal, was great at communicating all the information I needed prior to arrival. It’s conveniently located to all the downtown shops but nice and quiet in the evening. The place is clean and has all the amenities a traveler needs to stay comfortable. The futon I slept on was very comfortable. I didn’t hear any complaints from my family about the pull out sleeper or the bedroom bed. When I return to the Black Hill’s, if there is room at Ponderosa Place, I’ll definitely be back."

"So awesome! Our family of 8 adults and 3 kiddos stayed in the lodge for 5 days. The grounds are beautiful, lovely little back yard area! The lodge itself is updated and clean, very comfortable! Plenty of private little nooks when you need a minute of "alone time" or reading time. Beds were comfy, showers we're warm and good pressure, kitchen was spacious. We loved that we could all be in the open space of the downstairs and not feel crowded by one another. The hosts, Crystal, Roy, and their dog Minnie, were SO nice and incredibly welcoming and accommodating!! We loved the little welcome basket and the notebook with local recommendations. The lodge was much bigger feeling than the pictures too! Close to all attractions in the area, and close to walking trails and the skywalk in Custer, and just a few blocks from the grocery and downtown area. Wildlife were very abundant and fun to watch in the evening. Stop looking and looking and STAY HERE, you won't regret it!!!!"

"Very comfortable cabin with lots of fun things to do nearby. We had 5 adults in the lodge, and it worked out great! There are 2 bedrooms and a bath downstairs, and 2 bedrooms and a bath upstairs (plus several fun little sleeping nooks for kids). Everything was clean and creatively decorated, with a rustic, eclectic feel. You can tell the owners (who are very nice) have had a fun time fixing it up. We didn't cook much, but the kitchen seemed well stocked. We all really enjoyed hanging out on the front porch in the evenings - very comfortable, and we could watch the deer gather. My son played the disc golf course at the park several times, and loved it. Overall, a great vacation spot!"
