Retreat at Water's Edge Apartments

"UPDATE: funnily enough, because there is little to no security here, my car got stolen! love that for me. this would be the third car break in i've had since moving here. Listen to these reviews. I started renting here because I was in a difficult situation and needed to quickly find somewhere to live. When I moved in, my air conditioner was nonfunctional and it took them THREE MONTHS to replace my air conditioner. I think they finally replaced it in JULY. I moved in in APRIL. They only replaced it after I emailed a higher up. Now my AC unit smells and they won't fix that despite me putting in new maintenance requests. I honestly just gave up. My car was broken into twice, and when I asked for garage access (that I have to pay an extra $40 a month for), they gave me a spot in a garage with a door that's been broken since before I moved in. What kind of safety is that providing me? The walls are thin, the elevator is constantly breaking, the front doors to the building literally don't even shut because they're also constantly breaking. Today, I was woken up by the smell of burnt rubber coming from the broken elevator (has been broken all week now with no one coming to look at it). I called the emergency maintenance line but honestly never heard anything back so I don't even know if anyone ever came to look at it. I left because the smell was so bad. The first day of cold weather, the boilers weren't working so we had no hot water and no heat. I will give them credit for fixing that quickly, but it seems like every week something else goes wrong and there is little to no communication. Also, yes. For some reason, the water randomly goes hotter/colder."

"*UPDATE* The rent continues to go up (on top of bogus fees) while conditions of the buildings only worsen. It's bad enough that we decided to terminate our lease, throwing away over $1500 just to get out. Well worth it. Steer clear of this place."

"DO NOT MOVE TO THIS PROPERTY. DO NOT MOVE TO THIS PROPERTY OFFICE STUFF ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING HAPPENING TO YOU AT THIS PROPERTY. WHY ? 1 . I LOST 3 CAR IN This APARTMENT . 2of them stolen in garage. 1 of them got rubbed by gunpoint. 2. Randomly they towing your car. Even i paid 8 $ a month for parking outside. 3. They are having big problems with boiler that make my kid got burned. Because water it's not stable. Getting cold . Getting hot. 4 . Worst management I've ever seen in my whole life"

"***UPDATE 9/17: I am beyond furious! Echleon and the people here at Retreat at waters edge should be ashamed. Their lack of maintenance, allowing a "secured" buildings garage door to be stuck open for over a month now has allowed the junkies to move in. I go to take my kids to school and find used hypodermic needles laying next to my car. Thanks for nothing! Oh and all the previous issues stated after this are still unresolved well. ****Dont waste your time! I've given this new company plenty of time and they've just let this property fall apart. Dont be fooled by the managers responses to these reviews because he doesn't care. Nothing is secure; garages, parking lots, all the doors that should lock dont, we cant even use the outgoing mail cuz they've disabled it due too many break ins. My children and I were trapped in the elevator. Had to call 911 as the emergency team here doesn't respond. The same elevator is out of service multiple times every year. It's the end of June and the pool is still closed. There is no water pressure or hot water frequently. Maintenance does not know how to fix anything. Stay far away from here!"

Jennifer is a superstar manager who really cares about the residents and she always has a smile to welcome you. Beautifully maintained. I highly recommend you check it out!
