The Manchester Apartments

"I lived in the Manchester for 3 years and only left because I purchased a home. Ive lived in a few other buildings around the neighborhood over the last 20 years and can say without a doubt that the management at this property is one of the best Ive ever dealt with. The property is well maintained, the building managers are responsive, and the maintenance staff is friendly and knowledgable. A couple of things that really stood out to me were the live in managers and the way tenants actually take advantage of the amenities. The Manchester has a beautiful common space and this is the only high rise Ive lived in where the tenants actually use and hang out in the common areas. There is a real sense of community. But by far the best, and these days the rarest, part of the Manchester is that the 2 managers actually live in the building. As more and more places are bought up by huge corporations, live in managers seem to be becoming a thing of the past. There are many reasons having them live there is a good idea but the most obvious is that when major parts of the building like AC, heating, or water break down (as buildings do) the people calling for repairs also have to live in the condition that waiting for the repairs cause. When its 100 out and the AC dies they have to go to bed at night in the same sweltering conditions you do. I find that buildings with managers who go to their own homes in the evenings simply dont have the same sense of urgency for such things. Did the fire alarm go off at 8PM because someone forgot about something in the oven on the 10th floor? They have to listen to the blaring alarms as well until someone clears it. TLDR; The building is kept in good condition and the management is responsive and helpful. There tends to always be a waiting list to get into the building and there is a reason for that. If you get the chance to rent here I strongly encourage you to do it."

"The Manchester is an amazing place to live! It by far exceeds every apartment complex that I have lived in with its outstanding and friendly staff. It really feels like you are valued and a part of the Manchester family. Meeting residents that have lived in the building for decades is another testimonial that they are really doing something right here! Fair rent prices and a wonderful location are really only outshined by the front desk, maintenance crew and cleaning staff. My boyfriend and I really couldn’t have asked for a better spot! "I've never moved into a friendlier and more helpful apartment building. Everyone meets you with a smile, they helped me reserve an elevator while moving in (and supplied complimentary push carts), and the building managers are always happy to help. It feels like home the second you step inside and I'm truly lucky to have found such a wonderful apartment. Also worth mentioning: it's a clean building with great amenities housed in a comfortable neighborhood. It's also located right beside Cheeseman Park and the Botanic Gardens, which are both wonderful places to spend a sunny day. If you're interested in renting an open apartment here, it would be wise to take it immediately."

"The Manchester is such a breath of fresh air. The management lives on site, and both Monte and Dee are present, helpful, and kind. When I was searching for an apartment, Monte was such a huge help, very informative and transparent in communication, very responsive, genuinely enthusiastic about the building, and a big reason I chose to live here. It's clear that the residents all appreciate and care for the space. People greet one another and there is actually a sense of community in the building. The building itself is well cared for, with great insulation (hardly any noise!), quality fixtures, and incredibly spacious balconies. The Manchester is the opposite of the faceless corporate apartment building, and it's obvious why many of the residents here have stayed for many years."

"I feel very lucky to make my home at the Manchester. Dee and Monte, the live-in managers, are friendly, caring professionals. They were a terrific help showing us prospective apartments and our endless questions with our move/building details. They go above and beyond every day. Months later, their care and concern carry through every day. I see them working early, late, weekends - Dee and Monte are truly committed to their work. Oscar manages the maintenance for this beautiful property, and he is responsive and a pleasure whenever we need his help. The building has great amenities - pool, guest room, gym, community room, plantings, terraces with beautiful views - and the cleaners do a terrific job on the community areas. The location is ideal - right by the Botanic Gardens and Cheesman Park, very residential and quiet yet close to downtown. Neighbors are friendly and most tenants I meet have been here over 7+ years, a few for decades. Rent is reasonable for all that is offered - just compare to the high rents of the Amaranth next door. My only wish would be if I could keep a cat, as no pets are allowed. I am very grateful to Dee, Monte and Oscar for making our happy home possible!"
