"I liked it here! I stayed 2 years. I was south facing in unit 1205 and had a flawless view of the mountains. Ton of natural light with floor to ceiling sliding glass doors in the bedroom and the living room. Incredible to walk out to a balcony right from my bedroom. Wood burning fireplace. Felt very private, never heard my neighbors with the thick concrete walls. My rent was increased from $1,670 to $1,840 so it made more sense to just move next door to The Seasons which is a bit more luxurious for the same price point. There is a large construction project scheduled to begin spring of 2024 directly next to High Country House as well, so I was a little confused as to why my rent would be increasing, but gave me a good excuse to try something else out. I tried asking if they would think about not adjusting rent considering the noise and debris from construction, but they wouldn’t budge. I’ll keep an eye on the market and there’s honestly a good chance I’ll be back after the projects complete! The manager, Christina was an absolute sweet heart and maintenance, Erik, never took more than a few hours to respond and was always friendly. They had a good staff and people seemed happy to live there."
"Amazing views! Apartments are spacious and quiet. The neighborhood is safe and super walkable, and Erik is the best maintenance, he takes great care of the building. I highly recommend living here!"
"Management has been good. I really appreciate the LGBTQ+ friendliness overall. There is a young sir with a beard, who works in the building, Erik, who was extremely welcoming , always greeting when I see him in the hall way."
"The building is great! Maintenance is great. Thanks to Erik. Anytime something needs to be fixed Erik is quick to find the problem & fix it. He helps meet our needs. Management is good. Most of all, I really enjoy how everyone here is LGBTQ+ friendly. A big thank you to Erik for making sure the building stays maintained."
"It’s fine. Everything is very dated, and the main shared areas have not been updated since the original construction in 1969. The apartments have been refurbished however. Great views. Right next to like 20 tennis courts and the cherry creek mall so it can sometimes be incredibly loud outside. Senior citizen home and nursing home right next door as well so we often hear ambulances and sirens going off. The “central air conditioning” has been broken for the last few summers, I had to buy my own window unit. Almost none of the apartments have their own washer/ dryer, have to use a pay one that’s shared on the floor. The elevators are incredibly dated and almost a bit scary, they’re very slow and have gotten stuck with people in them a few times since I moved in. To get from top to bottom it can sometimes take 5-10 minutes depending on how many other people are using them. The pool has been closed a few times now, the sauna is pretty dingy and old, smells a little strange and no one uses it really, but it works. The carpets in the halls are vacuumed weekly, but there are pet pee stains all over, wall paper peeling. My friends have described the halls as “haunted”, think of the halls in the movie The Shining. Dim, kind of spooky lighting. Apartments are decently sized, but storage has always been a challenge for me at least. Closets are pretty shallow. On the plus side the neighborhood is very safe. Almost no crime, I’ve left my car unlocked a few times outside and no issues. The balconies are huge, but you are very visible to your neighbors, basically imagine walking outside and being like 15 feet away from your neighbor if they happen to be out there too. Right next to the cherry creek trail with some amazing biking and running. There is no trash fee or other nonsense service fees that so many newer complexes charge. The rent is the rent and that’s it + your electric. No water fee, no sewer fee, no trash fee, no heating fee. There is always a manager on-site and she’s really sweet and on top of things. People seem to really like her. My rent for a one bedroom has gone up about $120 monthly in 1 year, not too bad, but you can definitely get other options with more amenities for the rent charged. People are constantly moving in and out. Lots of people from out of state come for a year or a few months before leaving and finding something more permanent."
