"The building and location are are good, hence the 2 stars. It is not concrete build, so if you are sensitive to noise simply know that you will hear your neighbors above you walking. The management team has been far below par. The lack of communication, effective communication, has been shocking. I have heard very good things about the company and was excited to live at one of their buildings. Of the service team, there is one good tech who has been capable of communicating and resolving issues. Bottom line, if frustration stems from unmet expectations, that is where I am with my experience. A word of caution on things that were either not told to me or were told incorrectly. They do not accept credit cards for payments(so no points) & they are on a chiller/boiler system. This means you do not have 100% autonomy over your thermostat, they have to switch the whole bld to either heat or a/c. These things are fine, so long as that expectation has been set."
"I’m about to move out of The Scot after a year and this was the worst rental experience I’ve had in 10 years. I paid over 2K a month for a ‘new’ 1 bedroom that was advertised to have central air. My unit averaged over 80° all summer, including at night. Often well above 80°. The management company, Red Peak, never replied to emails and sluggishly to work orders I had opened all summer for the AC. Over the past year, I’ve tried calling The Scot office 60+ times with no answer and no voicemail setup. There’s no staff located in The Scott either, so phone calls and work orders are residents only options. They’ve never fixed work orders I’ve opened for; a towel rack that fell off a month after I moved in, several blown out recessed lights, and faulty doors/ windows. I would feel irresponsible not posting my experience online. I was first to live in my apartment which used to be common space, and since I moved in the following also occurred: 1) Didn't have Ethernet run to my apartment until 6 weeks after I moved in. 2) An entire interior-wall of my ‘new’ apartment had to be demolished, have a new fire alarm line ran through it, and then re dry walled. I had to request they paint over their dry wall patches multiple times. Took well over a month, tons of contractor days in my apartment as I tried to wfh. Given all the issues I experienced at The Scot, I was never offered a discount on rent or anything like that. Or even communicated with by management. I recommend saving yourself the stress, and renting elsewhere."
"Great location. Can't say that strongly enough: great location. Beyond that, the renovations on the building seem to have been cheaply done and already aren't holding up well (having taken about 8 months of constant, non-stop construction and having only been done for about a year). The biggest downside of this property is the management company. Literally every single time I've had an issue, there's been new/different building manager, so clearly there's intense turnover within their office. I was without A/C for two and a half months with no resolution, and that's standard for any service requests. Just totally unresponsive and seemingly uninterested in resolving issues, even after me reaching out or following up multiple times via both phone and email. Per some of the other reviews here, some of those past issues have taken care of themselves since the construction is done. Fewer packages being stolen, for example, and no more work being done on the parking lot. But some security and maintenance issues persist (lack of security cameras, the handle on the front entry door fell off and wasn't fixed for over a week, elevator often out of order, etc.)."
"Don't move here. Looks are deceiving. Rent is more than advertised, the leasing agents are the least helpful people on earth. If you have maintenance issues you're better off fixing it yourself and you will not be reimbursed for anything they say you will be, or things you should be reimbursed for. Filtration issues thru the whole building and we had WATER in our INTERNET LINES which wasn't fixed for several weeks. The bathrooms WILL fall apart and look like they did originally within weeks, you'll have issues with your door code and you'll get towed out of your paid parking spot if your car does t get stolen first. Eff redpeak and eff the scot"
"Our place is fantastic- a two bedroom, two bathroom with a killer view of the front range- but has been tarnished by poor management choices. They told us when we moved in at the start of november that construction would only be a few weeks long (midway through july now), dug out a perfectly good pool to make way for a patio, and have made no effort to address the rampant package theft that is occurring in the temporary mail room. Cosmetic gestures at peace offerings have been made in the forms of complementary sandwich and chip lunches once every six weeks, but we (and our neighbors) would prefer security cameras. Also, in redoing the waste areas, they dug out a reserved parking spot without telling the owner his $100/month spot was now a gaping hole. Small wonder the understaffed Redpeak rep who we worked with on the lease found a different job within two weeks of moving. The hot water and HVAC work well though. TLDR good place, poor management."
