Winchester & Browning Apartments 3006 South Bannock Street, Englewood, CO 80110

"Winchester and Browning was my first ever apartment and I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. I moved out because my best friend moved to CO and wanted to room with me, otherwise I'd probably still be there!! I was looking for an apartment managed by someone approachable and not a huge company like Greystar, and I sure found it. The community manager Kerry is literally the sweetest!! I remember the day I came to tour, she showed me around and also showed me what I should be looking for, which I wouldn't have expected from someone who was trying to make a sale!! That was so so helpful since, again, it was my very first apartment, and I only had a vague idea of what to look for. A tennant came up to her while we were talking in the office after the tour, and gave Kerry a little gift as a thank-you for pulling in her packages while she was out of town - huge green flag!!! After I signed, Kerry got me a parking spot right next to the front door, which I (and my parents lol) were SO grateful for since I was a 20 year old woman living alone. The front door to the building has its own lock with a seperate key, and double security like that is a great thing to look for, so another green flag!! I had a garden level apartment and mine was pretty much the first apartment you'd hit after walking through the front door, but I never ever felt unsafe or uneasy in Winchester and Browning. Whenever I had a maintenance problem (or any apartment related questions) Kerry was quick to respond and help me out. She also helped me with my original walk-through to check for damage from the last tennant, and even took note of some nail holes and small things I missed - so helpful for my deposit return!! Whenever she caught me in the halls she'd always ask how I was doing and how the apartment was :) she was so sweet and helpful during the move-out process as well; my grandma dropped by to pick up some stuff I'd left under the sink and she came back talking about how sweet Kerry was and how she'd asked about me and wished me the best. Praise from my grandma is very high praise indeed haha!! There are so many landlord horror stories out there, but I'm lucky that Kerry was definitely one of the best, and I couldn't have asked for a better first landlord. The neighborhood is great, although I'm biased since I grew up only a few blocks away from the area!! It's close to everything you could possibly need, and it's in a pretty good part of town. The building is old but remodeled so it never felt dated and I never had issues with heating/cooling/water!! Overall, 10/10 would recommend Winchester and Browning!! Thank you guys for a great first renter experience, and thank you Kerry for all you did for me :)"

"I have lived here for a year now and it's been fine. Brian is no longer here but any issues or anything I needed fixed was done quickly. Neighbors are quiet and the location is great. Its nothing fancy but the units are well maintained and I do love the rooftop deck."

"The apartment manager is a real piece of work. He seems to take his position of authority as an excuse to treat people poorly and take his aggressions out on you. He will not respond quickly to any requests for maintenance (I'm still waiting for a shelf and a carbon monoxide alarm, for 3 years.) and if you ask for any task he will groan over it. The rooms are okay, they leak horribly so temperature is sometimes an issue. The rooftop deck is a joke with many boards coming loose and the grill near unusable since no one cleans it."

"I called to ask about pricing and was immediately turned off from even asking further questions. The clerk who answered the phone responded rudely, "I have no idea how much they are" and then stated "we don't have any available." I understand if you have no apartments of that specific size available, but you just lost a potential renter because of your lack of professionalism with me on the phone. Another response could have been, the apartments are usually this amount, however we do not have any available at this time, when are you looking to move in? I was taken aback and even a little perturbed he didn't even see when I was planning on moving in. Sorry, but you just lost my vote to ever look at your housing again."
